Salfeet Municipality has recently established and started operating Salfeet Municipal Public Library in order to actualize the following objectives:

1.     Offering the related services of culture, knowledge and information to the people of Salfeet and the governorate.

2.     Encouraging the local community to positively use their leisure in reading and related activities.

3.     Developing the growing talented in fields of science, arts, literature through offering them the appropriate items and atmosphere.

4.     Offering the local community the modern techniques of computer, Internet and various desks.

The library consists of two sections:

1.     The Public Library for adults including stacks of books, periodicals, reading space and computer network.

2.     The children library including children books, furniture and other accessories.

This separation is aimed at offering both social categories their needs in the best atmosphere.

The local community can make use of the library following services:

1.     Book lending of various subjects.

2.     Using the computer services for personal affairs.

3.     Communicating the world through the internet service.

4.     Free reading and research writing.

5.     Services of photocopy, printing and scanning.

The library holdings are various and include:

1.     20.000 books of various subjects and in the languages of Arabic, English and French.

2.     20 periodicals including magazines and newspapers.

3.     A small multimedia library planned to grow during the coming period.

Library Membership:

In order to give chance for utmost usage of library, we started registrating members according to the following categories:

1.     Student of schools and universities can borrow 2 books.

2.     Ordinary member can borrow 2 books.

3.     Family member which include all family members and can borrow 4 books.

4.     Organization member can borrow 10 books.
