Business Conference

July 21st - 24th , 1997

Under the Patronage of President Yasser Arafat, the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation ( Department of Expatriate Affairs ) in cooperation with other ministries of the Palestinian National Authority and private sector institutions, will hold a FOUR-DAY Buisness Conference between July 21^st and 24^th, 1997; The first two day-sessions (21^st and 22^nd) will be in Gaza and the last two-day sessions will be in Bethlehem (West bank).

Participants will include government officials, representative of International organizations and donor countries, Palestinian Businessmen and Professionals (Local and Expatriates).

Tentative Agenda will include issues such as:

- Investment opportunities ( Projects' listings ) .

- Investment laws and regulations .

- Entry visas , residency permits , freedom of movement within the Palestinian territory and Israel . ( Laws and regulations ) .

- Export / Import : procedures and regulations .

- Professionals needed for government posts and Private sector institutions , companies , corporations etc. .

- TOKTEN Program of the UNDP ( Transfer of Knowledge Through Expatriate Nationals sponsored by The United Nations Development Program ) .

- Workshops where participants could discuss joint-

ventures of foreign and local business .

- The Conference Program also include visits to business and industrial sites ; tourist attractions and major cities .

- Suggestions to include in the AGENDA other subjects of concern to Expatriates and foreign investors , are highly appreciated .
