Palestinian Health
"An Introduction"
Health Services: Provided by PNA Government administration, UNRWA, NGOs popular committees (e.g. Health Services council, Health Care and Health Work Committees, Medical Relief Committees), the private sector, charitable societies (e.g. Red Crescent Societies, Patients' Friends Societies, Zakaat Charitable Societies). UNRWA services are free to registered refugees; NGO clinics have low charges which rise with private services are free to registered refugees; NGO clinics have low charges which rise with private clinics and rise particularly with government clinics. There are still many gaps in the provision of clinic/hospital facilities and aspects of mental health, dental health care, health education, sanitation. In addition, the existing facilities face inadequate distribution and inefficient utilization of human resources. Health personnel are in most cases rare, underpaid, underutilized and poorly manages.
