Gaza and Hebron July 1999

Season’s Greetings:  Happy New Year and Eid Fiter Saeed.

This is to inform you that the Second Conference of Palestinian Expatriates: Businessmen and Professional, has recommended that the THIRD CONFERENCE be held in Gaza and AL-Khaleel (Hebron) in July 1999. It was also recommended that the CONFERENCE should be of GENERAL NATURE and address various issues of concern to the Palestinian Expatriates: social, economic, cultural, institution-building etc.

The CONFERENCE will be held under the patronage of President YASSER ARAFAT and will be sponsored by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MOPIC), Dept. of Expatriate Affairs. Other Ministries and institutions of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) will be co-sponsors. Also the private sector will be asked to co-sponsor the CONFERENCE.

As the Conference will be of general nature, Palestinian Expatriates of all walks of life (businessmen, professionals, laymen, women, children etc) can attend. Social organizations and institutions in the Diaspora are urged to send their representatives to share their experience with the participants and hear experiences of others. This exchange of ideas will strengthen ties of our expatriates with their fellow countrymen and women in Palestine.

CONFERENCE AGENDA is open to all suggestions. We will be glad to have qualified expatriate sisters and brothers among the speakers or workshop moderators. Please send us their names, Fax Nos. E-mail addresses and topics of their papers. We will be glad to send them direct invitations.

There will also be tours to major Palestinian cities to visit cultural, tourist, industrial, and commercial sites. A visit to Gaza Airport will definitely be rewarding. A meeting will be arranged with H.E. President YASSER ARAFAT. Other meetings with PNA ministers and public officials will be arranged. The Conference will give you opportunity to meet private sector businessmen and professionals from Palestine and the Diaspora.
