The idea behind the PMW Media Action Calls Unit is very simple: PMW needs to have a group of about 100 people -- and the more the merrier -- who would strongly commit to answering an action call when it is sounded by PMW. The goal is to have a coordinated and timely guaranteed mobilization on demand, so that we can collectively deliver a forceful message and turn heads when heads need to be turned. The action calls would be mainly calls for people to send email or make phone calls to media outlets (although we may make calls to non-media entities if and when warranted). PMW will issue NO MORE THAN one action call per week. That is, your total time commitment as a member of the PMW Action Call Unit will not surpass a few minutes per week! So, let us together build a well disciplined action machine that will in the next few weeks, months, and beyond, command the attention of the media and impress upon them the reality that they need to watch what they say and what they write about the conflict.
