ISRAELI POLICIES AND UNEMPLOYMENT
The Israeli government is said to have eased the conditions that allows Palestinian workers to enter into Israel. According to Israeli sources, Israel has a shortage in foreign workers, and the construction industry need 3,000 more foreign workers. While the Israeli Labour Ministry says that foreign workers contribute to unemployment, the Israeli Housing Ministry is calling for more foreign workers. Many of the foreign workers in Israel are Turks, and it is expected that many of them will leave for home after the earthquake that hit Turkey recently. It is worth mentioning that Israeli unemployment figures hover around 200,000.
