PROFILE:
Panorama, the Palestinian Center for the Dissemination of Democracy and
Community Development, is a non- governmental, non-partisan and non-profit
organization founded in Jerusalem in 1991.
Panorama's aim is to participate in raising awareness of issues related
to democracy, community development, civil society, citizenship, participation,
pluralism, transparency, social justice, and the rights of women and children.
The center's staff includes both local and international volunteers and
professionals. The Center maintains an open-door policy for interested
persons to collaborate and to support the main objectives of Panorama.
Panorama now has an office in Jerusalem and one in Ramallah.
PURPOSE:

To empower
and prepare the Palestinian people for the construction of a civil, democratic
and pluralistic society

To encourage
respect, altruism, and citizenship, and to reinforce a sense of belonging
as well as an eagerness for self-improvement and constructive participation
in the Palestinian society

To prepare
a new generation that will adopt democracy as a way of life and will fight
to guarantee and protect the basic rights of the individual

To strengthen
democratic leadership qualities among Palestinian youth
-
To promote
the advancement of women and to support the acknowledgment of the independent
identity of women

To collaborate
with individuals and organizations throughout the Middle East and internationally
who are interested in community development
