Subject: Call for Proposals: infoDev Country Gateway Grants
In September 2000, infoDev announced a Call for Proposals for grants to
assist groups in planning for the creation of Country Gateways in partnership
with the Development Gateway. infoDev allocated $1.8 million for this program in
FY 01
(July 2000-June 2001). By the end of April 2001, infoDev had received
71 proposals from 51 countries, and had approved funding for 32 proposals.
infoDev is pleased to announce a new Call for Proposals for Planning and
Implementation Grants to assist groups for the creation of Country Gateways.
For both Planning and Implementation Grants, proponents should demonstrate
the active involvement of stakeholders from civil society, government, and the
private sector. They should link the activity clearly to development priorities
and issues within the country and indicate how the activity will contribute to
development.
