Good work and good answer to Kamel, I agree with you that we should go to
BZU. I think at the end, this will help PITA as a PR issue for the
community.

The background to this is that I came this morning to the office to see a
faxed invitation to Ibrahim and myself to attend the opening of a
videoconference event to break the siege between BZU and Gaza to coincide
with the graduation ceremonies at BZU. Also a news item was in Alquds
newspaper on this. This is was PITA's idea to Paltel to prove that we can
jointly work together for our common good I even agreed that PITA can
contribute up to $1000 as our share for this joint activity. Paltel, through
their agent EllamTam went ahead and arranged the event them selves. As soon
as I saw the invitation this morning I called Kamel Husseini Director of
EallamTam and protested that they came to us for joint activities and to
build alliances we cooperated and give them many ideas one of them is the
video links to break the siege we even helped them with many technical
details then they went alone for this without any mention of PITA role. I
did tell him this is very bad start and this will push PITA to review this
bi-lateral relation with Paltel.
I did mention to him that they at least should have the decency to invite
PITA to give opening speech. I also criticised the technical set-up by not
broadcasting the event on the Internet as well! Since it's easy and cost
little.

Kamel sent the mailing below in response to my protest.

Now Ibrahim or myself (or any of the BoD) must go to BZU tomorrow for the
opening ceremony and give short speech at 4:00 and we can delay the BoD
meeting half or one hour?

 But we should attend and we have to let Kamel know this by tomorrow morning

I called Messrs. PALTEL and informed about your position. They deeply regret
any misunderstanding as this first event is test case and filled with
problems, so they did not want to bother you with the boring details until
it is confirmed. Now it is confirmed and they would like PITA to give an
official speech during the event.

PALTEL also gave us instructions to thank PITA officially in Zahi Khouri's
speech and any other official Releases.

However, PALTEL would like to fully partner up with you for the larger event
at AL Manara. Please advise me or Amjad first thing in the morning who will
speak on behalf of PITA.
