RE: Minister of trade
Dear
Ahmad
It
seems that you did not understand me, I am not interfering in Mashhour's
business at all, on the contrarily I am giving him full authority to do his job.
My point was not to go so far and judge on any body especially on the e-mail (
We decided to send the minister a letter asking him to visit our pavilion and he
accepts, and I believe that this is a good thing to PITA. He could suggest more
ideas to be done by the minister but not to write such message
).
I seconds your comment that Mashhour is doing
great job, and I am following his work. But when it comes to mistakes, we as the
board should instruct our team not to do such message.
Let's
close this issue and get learned from it.
Regards,
Ibrahim
Dear
All, If I
may jump in, one of the main reason we hired an executive manager for PITA is
to take care of the day to day management of PITA so we as a board can work on
policy setting and other important stuff. We went through hell to select a
person for this position and from my dealing with Mashhour on the web site
project I can tell he is dealing with PITA as if his own company, so guys let
him do his job and take of this issues, there is no need for us to get involve
in every little tiny issue. If Mashhour can squeeze some money from the MOET
then lets do it, if he can get Al Kronz to open the pavilion and get a full
sponsorship from MOI then be it. I don't see a problem that the Minister do
something for this honor, if not I am sure others will.

Ibrahim, Nor I like your
reaction Indeed, I do not expect every member of the board to like or
agree of what I am saying and I do fully understand my role and other BoD
role. My argument was purposefully and carefully instigated as part of
consensus building among BoD members and was sent only to BoD list.
It is proper that another different viewpoint should be tolerated and has
a fair hearing! The BoD can decide what they like, this what BoD have
been elected for and are made accountable in front of members, but to my
opinion still does not make what I have proposed wrong. Nor I propose
that other Ministers are better or more efficient than MoET but we have
to extract maximum benefits from him since he did nothing towards Gitex
and its about time for him to do so. Please remember that we have not
employed a secretary yet to blindly follow orders, but I am careful and
work hard that I have good judgment of technical operational matters and
have good working relation with BoD and the chairman of board as in the
attached job description.
I feel I have made my point and I consider
the matter closed.

RE: Minister of trade
Dear Mashhour
With all the respect to
what you meant in your message, but I do not like it. What you have to do
is to contact the embassy in Dubai and see what they suggest and leave
the decision to us in the board of how to be the relation with the
minister. I am sorry for being little bit tough, but let's be reasonable
and not to blame the PNA for such issue.
Thanks for the
understanding.
Ibrahim

We know nothing about protocol of this nature. It is about
time that the ministry gets their hands in the work and start doing
something for their industry. In case something is missing they will
start blaming us. The Embassy and the Ministry belong to the same
institution and have their communication lines. I did not see why the
minister should reject opening the pavilion. I think is his lucky day! I
would even suggest that they start looking with us for sponsors for the
Palestine Pavilion; it's their duty to do so. Normally government does
these initiatives and the private sector contributes and participates.
What I see here are the opposites. Do we need to pamper him and find him
a nice escort as well? I simply do not share you the excitement. When
are we going to tell the Minister that he has to do more for us while me
do all things for him and he has to show us something in return? If this
matter is left to me, I simply do the following: 1- Contact the Minister
office let him know that we are glad that he is coming to open the
Palestine Pavilion and meantime let him feel that we did this job for him
since the Pavilion will be Palestine Pavilion. 2- Ask the Ministry at
least to sponsor the reception, part of the space rental and Palestinian
giveaways which can have the Ministry name 3- On our behave the Ministry
contact international donors to sponsor advertising and publication 4-
If they refuse I recommend PITA look for someone else more profitable.
(I think this is how all of you run your
business)

Dear All
I would like to inform you the Mr. Masri
the Minister of Economy and Trade accepted to open our Palestinian
Pavilion in Gitex. We have to work hard to make his visit official
participation, for example it might be a good idea to start contact our
embassy in Dubai and see what they suggest.
Keep the good news and
work for
more.

Ibrahim
