This is what we see:
Tanks wreak havoc in the occupied territories and instill fear in residents     Orchards, homes, and streets are destroyed every day     Homes in refugee camps have holes blasted through the walls into adjoining homes. The soldiers refused to use the doors.    Children are frequent targets of indiscriminate Israeli gunfire.
Massive tanks roaming the streets and firing indiscriminately at civilians

The malicious destruction of roads, homes, businesses, orchards, municipalities and lives

Holes being blasted in the walls of refugee homes and homes being totally demolished Frightened children being shot at - often just for trying to attend school
The Palestinian requests for International observers have been repeatedly denied. In their absense, international civilians can provide some protection for Palestinian civilians as they struggle for self-determination.
This is what we do:
Palestinians are often shot at for gathering to peacefully demonstrate. ISM volunteers organize and participate in demonstrations to protect Palestinians Past ISM actions included creating a wall of humans to allow children to pass barricades and safely travel to classes.
Join with locals and Israelis to protest violations of International Law Create shields with our bodies so children
can pass checkpoints and go to school
ISM volunteers remove roadblocks created by IDF bulldozers and tanks. Palestinian farmers often fall victims to settler violence. ISM volunteers accompany farmers to their fields to provide protection.
Remove roadblocks Protect farmers who want to harvest
their crops
ISM volunteers organize marches to break and protest curfews. Palestinians are often shot for breaking curfew without international protection. Hundreds of olive groves have been bulldozed by the IDF to build settlements, settler roads, and now the 'Wall of Aparthied'. International volunteers participate in actions to save olive groves.
Break curfew Protect olive trees from the bulldozers and chainsaws
  • Protect homes from demolition
  • Become 'human shields' for civilians during invasions
  • Ride in ambulances to increase the
chances that they will arrive safely at their destinations
  • Deliver food and medicine for people who are imprisoned in their homes because of curfew
  • Photograph and document violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention and International Law
  • Block tanks and bulldozers that are engaging in collective punishment
  • Tell others what we see
  • Provide hope
Together, Palestinians, international volunteers, and Israeli peace activists take a stand for freedom, adherance to international law, and an end to apartheid and oppression.
