Press release by the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas

Retorting to the European foreign ministers’ stand towards Palestinian resistance

We in the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas consider the European Community’s foreign ministers demand in their joint communiqué issued in Brussels yesterday to the Palestinian Authority to dismantle what they called terrorist networks affiliated with Hamas and Islamic Jihad including arresting all suspects (according to their own words) and prosecuting them and issuing an Arabic language call for an end to the armed intifada as outright support to Zionist occupation and aggression against our unarmed Palestinian people.

We condemn this biased stand in favor of the Zionist aggression and affirm our rejection to describing our legitimate struggle against occupation as terrorism. We also absolutely refuse to end the intifada and anti-occupation resistance. We remind all that the cruelest form of terrorism is occupation and its practices represented in mass murders of our children, women, the elderly and youth in cold blood. Those massacres did not stir the European conscience, which is hostile to our people and their aspirations for liberation.
