Urgent
Press Release

A number of media means today circulated a news report on the deportation of Hamas leaders from Jordan, claiming that the Qatari foreign minister had carried to Jordan a proposal allowing the return of the Hamas deportees for a short period before leaving Amman on their own free will. They attributed that report to what they called sources close to the Hamas Movement.

We, in the Hamas Movement, affirm that this report is totally untrue and baseless. It is an attempt to smear the stands of the Hamas Movement and deceive the public opinion. We also affirm that Hamas did not table any proposals in this regard and that it was insisting on the return of its deported leaders because their deportation came in violation of the Jordanian constitution, in defiance of citizens’ rights and an infringement of their citizenship.

We, in the Hamas Movement, realize the true intentions of those parties that try to leak such fabricated news in a bid to besmirch the image of the Hamas Movement and its steadfastness. We are confident, at the same time, of the awareness of our Arab and Islamic masses.
