The doomed Camp David summit

A serious conspiracy against our people,
rights and sanctities

A new Camp David is to be held in Washington tomorrow grouping US president Bill Clinton, Zionist enemy’s premier Ehud Barak and head of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat.

The summit, held at the invitation and pressure of the American president, aims at achieving an accomplishment namely closing the file of the Palestine cause and reaching a framework agreement for a final peace settlement between the PA and the Zionist enemy’s government in a bid to end the struggle in the region before expiry of Clinton’s term in office.

The Camp David summit targets concluding a framework agreement on issues of the final status of the occupied Palestinian lands in 1967 while indefinitely postponing any agreement on details of those issues. Such a step would entail new and serious Palestinian concessions that would close the file of the Palestine cause. It would also lead to ending the struggle with the Zionist entity and open the doors wide-open for Zionist penetration of the Arab and Islamic region and normalization of relations. Barak had forestalled this summit by announcing his five Nos clearly pinpointing his government’s stands. Those are: no return to the pre 5 June 1967 borders, no division of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), no to the right of return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland, no to dismantling of settlements, no to presence of any other army than the Zionist one in Palestine. As for the PA, it declared its demands of implementing the remaining articles of the transitional stage and its intention to declare the Palestinian state on 13 September.

While the Zionist aggressor heads to that summit armed with those red lines and a public opinion rejecting to grant our people their rights, the PA goes to the summit carrying the illusion of the American role and stripped of any popular support. The PA is rather carrying the burden of quelling the loyal forces and Mujahideen of our people. It goes to the summit with actual readiness to offer dangerous concessions that apparently had been already approved or showed signs of approval during secret rounds of negotiations in Stockholm and others.

The self-rule Authority, realizing that it had already wasted a lot of rights and bypassed basic principles, will seek to cover up any concession via a big deception campaign directed to our people along with the Arab and Islamic Nation. It will attempt to highlight the declaration of the state as the real victory and the most wanted wish or aspiration. Thus it would be ignoring our people’s will, hopes and preparedness to sacrifice and it would jump over decades of Jihad and sacrifice.

At this time, the expected results of the Camp David summit will be more serious on our people, cause and rights. The PA now is demanded to present the most important element in the humiliating settlement process, which started in Madrid and Oslo and would only end in total surrender and absolute submission to the Zionist enemy.

Our Palestinian people … Our Arab and Islamic Nation

 The dangers of the ill-fated Camp David summit on our cause and people, in the event the PA succumbed to American and Zionist pressures, would be represented in the following:

First: The PA’s acceptance of the so-called Palestinian state with Zionist and American conditions so that it would be stripped of its will, sovereignty and dignity.

Second: Giving up Al-Quds and its sanctities leaving the holy city united under Zionist sovereignty and be requited with Alezariye, Abu Dees and a passage to the Aqsa Mosque. Meanwhile, efforts to judaize the holy city would continue along with the Zionist groups’ attempts to sacrilege the Aqsa Mosque and destroy it to build the alleged temple in its place.

Third: Abandoning the Palestinian refugees’ right of return to their lands and country and accepting compensation and resettlement in other countries.

Fourth: Retaining settlements as castles spreading like cancer in all Palestinian lands and keeping the herds of armed settlers as continued threat against our unarmed people.

Fifth: Penetrating the Arab and Islamic region and opening the door for normalization and all forms of official political relations with the Zionist enemy at the pretext that the Palestine cause was settled and the struggle was terminated.

Sixth: Continuing to strike the live popular forces that insist on the option of Jihad and resistance along with increasing security cooperation with the Zionist enemy in pursuing the Mujahideen and protecting occupation.

Our Palestinian people … Our Arab and Islamic Nation

We in the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, at this serious stage would like to assert the following:

First: We consider the Camp David summit as a new Zionist-American conspiracy that target terminating our people’s stable rights in Palestine, Al-Quds, return of refugees, dismantling of settlements and surrendering the right of establishing a fully sovereign state enjoying full rights in its waters and borders in return for a cartoon state.

Second: We condemn the PA’s approval to attend that summit of conspiracies and warn it against infringing or giving up our people’s rights and inalienable doctrines that are not for bargaining under any circumstances. We affirm that the PA does not represent our people in that case and it would be considered out of their national line if it went ahead with such concessions.

Third: Backed by our Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic Nation, we consider any result of that summit including surrendering of any part of our blessed lands or our people’s rights and dignity, as null and void. They would not bind our people or Nation, and we affirm that our people within and outside the homeland did not entrust any party to surrender their rights.

Fourth: The PA’s repeated declaration of timings to announce the Palestinian state was a mere deception to market its dangerous concessions and surrender of our people’s rights in return for a meager state tailored to fit Zionist standards and specifications.

Fifth: We call on our steadfast and heroic people including their vivid Mujahid powers in the homeland and the diaspora to resist any concessions or relinquishment of our rights. We call on them to express the people’s anger and denunciation of the PA’s practices and concessions with all possible means. We ask them to abort all plots hatched against our people and escalate popular confrontations against the enemy to shake the ground under the occupiers’ feet.

Sixth: We call on leaders of the Arab and Islamic countries to reject any surrendering of Palestinian rights and to practice all possible pressures on chairman of the PA, warning him against the repercussions of capitulation and surrender. We also ask our Arab and Islamic peoples to strongly back our Palestinian people and their Mujahid forces to restore rights and bolster our people’s steadfastness, Jihad and resistance in face of the Zionist offensive.

Seventh: Hamas confirms the necessity of forging a solid national unity on the basis of a new national project envisaging unity of the land and people. It further demands adopting Jihad and resistance as the sole road to liberate the lands and defeat the usurping occupation.
