Israeli Government Press Office statement - 9 September 1999
INTERIOR MIN. SHARANSKY DECISION ON DR. BUDIERI
(Communicated by Interior Ministry Spokesman)
IN accordance with the decision of Interior Ministry Natan
Sharansky,
Population Administration Director Rafael Cohen today (Thursday)
9.9.99,
informed the attorney of Dr. Mussa Budieri that having examined
the
details of the case, it has been found that since the British
passport
of Dr. Budieri has numerous return entry stamps to Israel and
since such
stamps are given only to permanent residents of Israel, the
Interior
Ministry does not consider Dr. Budieri as someone who has
abandoned his
residence in Israel.
Since the most recent entry permit was issued in 1997, the matter
of Dr.
Budieri will be re-examined after six years from the date of the
stamp,
namely in 2003.
