2 )  EVICTING WORLD JEWRY TO PALESTINE:

"Judaism is the pure nationalism of a chosen, selected and exquisite people, a supreme identity overlooking the whole world’s other identities". This is the first prodigious commandment of the Zionist movement, followed by the second commandment stating that the "Supreme goal of Zionism is manifested in rescuing the Jews from the vicious situation endured in the Diaspora (including all the oppression and slaughter campaigns, as well as the poverty, indigence, contempt and humiliation), by means of displacing them from where they live in hostile atmosphere to a sage place where they will recuperate their dignity, freedom and rights".

We would like, here, to draw the attention to you, dear reader, to the fact that the reiteration of Europe’s persecution of the Jews (an unquestionable fact, it must be added) in this study, wasn’t the sole responsibility of Europe itself, as the Jews also bear this very same responsibility, for reasons related to their isolation and exaltedness that led to the deep resentment, and later persecution pursuited by the nations of Europe.

The early Zionist symptoms of charitable trait, called for the emigration of East European Jews, as deprivation and persecution heavily reigned in this part of the old continent, and excelled in their campaign to achieve this target by all available means. All the money successfully gained from the pockets of assimilated Jews of Western Europe and benevolent people through the Jewish active associations and various funds spread throughout the continent, was used to secure the transfer of Jewish families outside their home countries, to Palestine in particular. Palestine was, then, a part of the Ottoman empire’s properties, where a limited number of local Jewish residents established their presence and living, representing a very small minority never being able to get compared with the overwhelming majority of local Arab people (only 22.000 Jews lived in Palestine, in comparison with 400.000 local Arabs, in 1880).

The extremely arduous mission facing the Jewish charitable associations in purchasing limited portions of Palestine territories for establishing the presence of the newcomers to this country was remarkably eased by the fact that Jewish emigrants didn’t came by large numbers, but rather by separated small groups, paving their way for being merged with some Palestinian Jewish local families, as the Ottoman laws prevailing until the late 80’s of the 19th century inhibited the large ethnic mass emigration waves heading for Palestine, but tolerated the emigration of only individuals, particularly as most of those emigrants sneaked their way through to Palestine by infiltration methods. Even this kind of emigration was dubbed as "Infiltration Operations" before Bazl congress being held in 1897, thus Theodor Herzl frequently declared that these Operations are not appropriate to the "Return" of Jewish people to Palestine, during his speeches in which he criticized the incitement made by "Zion’s lovers" organization, seeking to encourage these infiltration methods.

Herzl sought to alter the Jewish infiltration activities into a massive, public and official emigration act, widely recognized through anticipated organizational frame work and practical mechanisms, long before the establishment of the "World Zionist Organization" and during the Early years of its foundation. Hence, he made several contacts with the Ottoman Sultan, Abdul Hamid, through many statesmen of the Ottoman empire and its European Jewish friends, advisers and financiers, trying to convince the Sultan to allow the purchase of vast portions, of Palestinian territories by the world Jewry, in order to bring along the Jewish emigrants to establish their presence, in exchange for the payment of enormous amounts of money that could help him paying the depts of his empire, and canceling out the monetary balance deficit, with the proposed money being paid in cash or through good offices displayed before the European monetary organizations and institutions, most of them acting under the Jewish predominance.
However, Herzl’s attempts ultimately failed in their quest, and the 19the century ended without succeeding to gain the Sultan’s permission for massive emigration and the transfer of Palestinian territories to the Jewish control, for different reasons attracting contradictory views and explanations. Therefore, Herzl began to adopt a new political pattern in guiding the plans of the Zionist movement, in total contradiction with the charitable orientation led by his counterpart, Max Nordo and "Zion’s Lovers" organization. We will concentrate on this firm political approach in a following article, when we will assess the question of the deep linkage between the Zionist movement itself and the tendencies of the world’s super powers in that era.

We will content, here, in the course of dealing with the Zionist’s Second Commandment, detailing the necessity to displace the Jews to Palestine, the world Jewry or the biggest part of them, whatever the circumstances, prices and ramifications could reveal, to firmly indicate that the emigration itself remained a substantial rule of the Zionist overall activities throughout a complete century of our modern era. And despite the vivid fact of the emigration’s start from the early 80’s of the last century (referred to as the First and Second "Aliya" in the Hebrew language, which means heading toward the upper level, that is emigrating to the Mount of Zion, the true symbol of emigration to Palestine), yet the Jewish emigration waves continued unceasingly throughout the 20th century of our present time.

The evicting operations of Jewish people to Palestine were characterized by various dimensions forms and shapes, as they were conducted through stages connected to each others by a specific temporary juncture and particular Jewish or international situations. These mentioned operations have been actively conducted at the level of increasing the overall number of Jewish people in Palestine for more than 150 times in less than 100 years. And should we take into account the lower level of birth rate characterizing the Jewish life in general, and this is a true fact, it could be strictly revealed that the ascending pace of Jewish people numbers in Palestine, mostly established through emigration, was in fact one of the highest rates in the countries throughout the world in the modern era.

The Zionist leaders took full advantage of the tolerance displayed by the British mandate authorities in Palestine, since its occupation back in 1918 until 1948, regarding the Zionists in general and the Jewish emigration issue in particular, in order to implement the official policy at the highest level which was initiated thanks to the Balfour’s promise (1917) to give the Jews a national homeland in Palestine. Accordingly, the Zionist organizations and institutions involved in this issue succeeded in displacing large numbers of world Jewry directly to Palestine, and particularly those living in the central and Eastern parts of Europe. As for the official documents of that time, they divided these emigrants into 2 sections (both of them were illegal from our Palestinian, Arab, patriotic and national point of view, of course) being that the emigrants of the first section were driven out from their countries after compelling to the official emigration systems featuring the annual defined portions of emigrants, while the "Illegal" emigrants were those who arrived to Palestine outside the framework of the mentioned official emigration systems and their included portions concerning the Jewish emigrants succumbed to the own calculations of the British political authority regarding the Arabs from one hand, and toward the "World Zionist Organization" (and its American ally in the 1940’s) on the other hand.

The severe and rigorous treatment displayed by the Nazis and addressed to the Jewish communities in Germany and the countries invaded, and later occupied, by the German armies, was used as an additional pretext to double the overall number of Jewish emigrants, either "Legal" or "Illegal", according to the official expression reigning in those times. Hence, thousands of East European Jews rushed directly or indirectly, by air, sea and land, beginning from the mid. 30’s of the current century until the end of the mandate term in 1948.

The impudence of Zionists in enhancing the numbers of illegal emigrants, defying the mandate rules through exerting high pressures both at local and international scenes, stimulating the motivation of the Americans in particular, inciting the sympathy of the world opinion affected itself by the Zionist propaganda emanated from the Nazi’s progoms, have resulted in a solid coercion element exerted by the Zionist throughout the 1940’s, and heavily consolidated later on through successive terrorist operations targeting the British civilian and military presence in Palestine, which resulted in many casualties in the ranks of British officers, soldiers, police servicemen, judges, nationals and administrators, thus forcing at the end the British government to comply the extortion methods applied by the Zionist leaders, and paving the way for a widespread waves of
Jewish emigrants heading to Palestine, directly from the old European continent.

Furthermore, the Zionists evicted at the same time the biggest part of the Jewish communities living in the Arab world to the "Promised Land", particularly from Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Morocco, during the late years of the 1940’s. in so doing, they used terrorist methods against these Jews who lived in peace in their home countries, in order to frighten them and push all these communities to seek the emigration to the new established entity, which they officially announced its creation in the middle of May 1948.

In conjunction with this, the Zionists managed to displace other Jewish communities living in various regions throughout the world later on, mainly the Jews of Ethiopia, known as "Falasha", but the hugest wave of new emigrants to Palestine came from the Soviet Union and its allied countries in Eastern Europe during the "Cold War", and later from the Russian Federation and other newly-created countries emanated from the former Soviet Union.

Despite the complaints revealed by most of the new emigrants to "Israel" regarding the unsafe and unfair rough new life they faced, and although the rate of the counter-emigration from "Israel" to foreign countries exceeded in some periods the emigration to this new entity, the Zionists remained until the present time maintaining the card of emigration in their direct dealings with the other nations, and within their internal programs and projects; the primary aspect of the emigration issue remained until nowadays, in full accomplishment of a sacred Zionist commandment which should be implemented in full, without any weakness or failure. In this context, the recent settling issue in "Jabal Abou Ghneim" site is only a new page of the Jewish settling book in Palestine, and it won’t be the last page of course. This is just another phase of a very long series of episodes connected to the emigration and settling activities which are executed under the slogan of the "Return" and "Gathering the exiles from the Diaspora".

These episodes will continue in every inch of the Palestinian land as long as the Zionists of today and tomorrow remain faithful to the golden rule which we have attributed the term of "The Second Commandment".

The Third Commandment was emanated from both previous commandments: As long as the Jewish people preserve their status as a "Selected and exquisite people", and as long as the standing in the Diaspora remains rejected by the local societies and only cured by the emigration formula, this will enforce the establishment of a Jewish home country in any part of the world, where they will be able to gather around in a sage and peaceful atmosphere.

Theodor Herzl dreamt of Palestine as the location of this national home country. But he was practical and pragmatic; he wasn’t claiming for Palestine at the same extent of his claim for acquiring a national country anywhere, in Palestine if possible, or outside it if it proved unfeasible. It was for this reason that he designated the term "Political Zionism" for his movement, which means the flexible, provisional, developed and logical Zionism movement. However, he tried to acquire the land of Palestine by means of purchase and shrewdness, by bribery and stratagem. It was only his ultimate failure in his quest that led him to allow the circulation of the idea initiating the possibility of establishing this national country in any part of the world, stipulating the practical conditions, with the fundamental one topping the list being to win the authorization of the super powers in his bid.

Hence, he thought with his contemporary colleagues of the Zionist movement fathers, about establishing the new Jewish national country in Cyprus or Sinai; they even contemplated the possibility of fulfilling their ultimate dream in Libya’s Eastern desert, Central or Eastern Africa, and some of them stretched their wild imagination toward Argentina, renowned about its wealth, and very rich in water resources, land, woods, cattle and metals. Every one of them found in each of these provided places a fine option to create the new Jewish national country, alongside those who opposed this formulation of thinking. But the ultimate victory went to the proponents of confining the national home country in Palestine, at the end of that crucial period of time which lasted for 10 years following the convening of Bazl congress, which strictly meant the return to the literal wording of the Bazl program featuring the following phrase: "Zionism is striving for the establishment of a homeland for Jewish people in Palestine, protected by the
public law".

Palestine was, firstly, much closer to the Zionist imagination and Jewish heritage, as it represented the land that God promised to give to the people of Israel, some 40 centuries back, as they claimed. According, the emigration to Palestine took the shape of the "Return" to the religious meanings and concepts, and was the pure fulfillment of God’s will. In addition, there was a hostile feeling within the religious circles of Jews (particularly those living in the Jewish neighborhoods, who failed to get assimilated into the local societies, mostly in Eastern Europe) toward the secular tendencies of some of the Zionist leaders belonging to Central and Western Europe; the latter were compelled to seek the help of the religious extremist leadership who embodied the bulk of emigration projects, by means of fueling the Zionist political approach with thousands of potential emigrants to Palestine, through the incitement of their religious feelings and affection.

Palestine was, secondly, the land of blessings and riches, the land of yogurt and honey, the rivers ‘flow and the fountains’ stream; and it was, thirdly, located in a special strategic spot, at the heart of the Arab world, the principal transportations artery between the empires and their colonies. Hence, the side who will succeed to control Palestine could be able to spread his wings on different regions belonging to various empires, and could seek to bargain this land with the world’s super powers, as well as claiming for himself an outstanding and unique seat in the field of international strife.
Palestine was, fourthly, a part of an ill empire which was passing away, leaving its shattered pieces in the hands of the great nations, mainly Britain, the super power which was the closest side to the Zionist dream throughout the 40 years period that followed the Bazl congress.

And finally, Palestine was a wide land despite its relative small area, and the Zionists will find it easy to dispatch many millions of Jewish emigrants toward it. This was the highest number of Jewish people that Herzl and his colleagues hoped to bring as emigrants to the national home country, the real fulfilled dream of theirs; they even went on to get carried away by their optimism in the capability of the Palestinian land to absorb the whole number of world Jewry. In order to convince the world’s super powers about the relevance of their project and the true possibility of its fulfillment on-ground, they launched the famous lie that Palestine was a vacant country. This lie was basis of the predicament initiated by the Zionists before 100 years, and still reiterated now by some of the naïve and nescient people: "A land without people awarded to a people without land". but neither Palestine was without people owning every inch of its land, nor the world Jewry were a lost people in the wilderness without a refuge to harbor in. The Zionist movement created the need of searching a refuge even before the Jews found themselves without this refuge. As if the Jewish modern straying came as a result of the settling Zionist conspiracy in occupying Palestine at the very same extent of being a producer of it.
We have previously mentioned that Herzl wasn’t striving to acquire a charitable refuge, but pursuing to create a real state. And it was fully true that he contented with any available place on which he sought establishing this state when Sultan Abdul Hamid rejected all his temptations and solicitations, but he was aware that Palestine remained the most appropriate place to fulfill his vivid dream. However, the main gauge of determining the ultimate place was left by Herzl to the final outcome of the international negotiations undergone by himself (and pursuited later by his successors after his death in 1950) with the world’s super powers in order to gain their authorization, or even the permission of some of them, even one at least.

Herzl was also obsessed by the "Public Law" which guarantees him the "International Covenant" for legislating the capture of Palestine. There was indeed some of the expressions reiterated constantly in his memorandums, correspondences and writings in general. He was in pursuit of an international ceiling which provides comfort to his project. This ceiling was in his point of view more significant than the place of site itself of the country he sought to establish for his Jewish entity, or than its area, characteristic and nature. We should not forget, in this regard, that his Zionism was practical and not just a hunt for a refuge handed over to the deprived Jews in order to provide them with social and living services as a charitable gesture from his part.
