The detainees of "Israeli"-conducted jail called Nafha in the occupied territories dispatched a letter in which they appealed the national and international public opinion in order to investigate with the jail’s administration over a wormy cauliflower meal offered to them.

The letter, arrived yesterday at Al-Hayat Al-Jadeedah office, reported: "The jail’s administration had refused but to offer us a decayed meal that animals feel disgust at eating it. We had found the foot full of worms that one cannot see like them but in garbage and sumps".

The detainees raised the issue with the jail manager who summoned the physician to examine the cauliflower. Then, it was appeared that the quantity of cauliflower used in the meal had been stored for a long time until it was spoiled. The detainees described the worms as they have black heads and of two cm long.

The letter mentioned that the physician claimed the worms will die immediately after the water, in which the cauliflower plants are plunged, boils. But after boiling the water for a long time, it was transpired that the worms are still alive and swimming in the water as they were before boiling. Then, the jail’s administration alleged the worms will die after boiling them in oil. Also, the experience confirmed that was not true at all and the worms remained alive and in continuous movement.

The letter concluded with addressing the public opinion and human rights organizations to investigate this issue.
