Facts
and figures: Khiams evil record
The Khiam complex was first built as a military base by the French in
1930 . In 1985 it was turned into an investigation and detention center by the
"Israelis", following the closing of the Ansar Prison.
It was managed by "Israeli" proxy militiamen trained in
"Israel".
More than 2,000 people, including 500 women, were detained in Khiam.
The oldest female detainee at Khiam was Al-Abda Malkani, who was 70. Some,
such as Ali Taoubeh, were as young as 14 when they were arrested.
Among the detainees were some 60 students, as well as school teachers.
All the detainees in Khiam were held without trial and none was allowed to
see a lawyer.
Most of them were arrested because they refused to collaborate with the
"Israeli"-allied militia or for reasons as simple as owning a mobile
phone.
The detainees were subjected to electric shocks, doused with hot and cold
water, and emotionally tormented with threats to their properties and the
torture of family members.
Fourteen martyrs were tortured to death in Khiam.
