Netherlands
says no to Israeli request to host militiamen
The Dutch government Wednesday evening rejected a request made by the
Israeli government to receive former members of the Israeli
occupation's proxy militia, calling on the Israeli entity to shoulder its
responsibility by itself in this issue.
"The UN higher commission stated that there is no need to house former militiamen in another country as they have obtained a one-year license to stay in Israel, and the Israeli authorities have promised to grant them citizenship," the Netherlands foreign ministry said in a statement.
"Israel must shoulder its responsibility pertaining to the Israeli-allied who had worked actually for years in its interest," the statement added.
