Amnesty
wants Khiam jailers to ber punished fairly
An Amnesty International
delegation to South Lebanon said on Tuesday that former Israeli-allied
militiamen who workd in the notorious Khiam detention center should not be
pardoned but should receive fair trials.
The delegations report on human rights in the South was completed following
its visit to the region after the Israeli withdrawal on May 24.
The human-rights group said militiamen who worked in Khiam should be punished
for violent acts perpetrated against detainees. Former detainees testified that
they were victims of psychological and physical torture during their stay in the
notorious facility.
