Collaborators complain from Israels maltreatment
After the defunct
collaborators militia, so-called Southern Lebanese Army, bound their fate to
that of Israel, the latter denies the collaborators services and rejects
their presence.
About 500 collaborators with their families, who fled Lebanon along with the Israeli troops, plead before the Israeli Supreme Court to oblige the Israeli government to grant them the Israeli nationality in addition to the privileges enjoyed by the regular Israeli army. They also asked to be compensated for the losses they bore since the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon.
The collaborators complained that the Israeli authorities not only ignore and ridicule them but also deal with them as inferiors.
They stated that Israel is neither providing them with suitable living conditions nor schools for their children.
It was also mentioned in the plea that the collaborators (with the former Israeli occupation in South Lebanon) fear returning to their homes because their lives are endangered, as they said.
However, Israel is proposing money for the collaborators for them to leave, which clearly shows the Israeli policy, stated the plea.
