Lebanon sentences another 20 for collaboration with Israel
A Beirut military court handed down 20 more verdicts Thursday against Lebanese accused of helping Israel during its 22-year occupation of the south of the country, judicial sources said.
Among the sentences, three former members of Israels proxy South Lebanon Army were each sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison.
A total of 2,478 people have been sentenced since the trial of collaborators began in early June, just 10 days after Israels pullout from south Lebanon.
Thirty people have been sentenced to death, all of them in absentia.
