Lebanon sentences another 18 more people for collaborating with Israel
Beirut's military court sentenced 18 more Lebanese for collaborating with the "Israeli enemy," judicial sources said Thursday.
Four of them were sentenced in absentia to 15 years each.
The remainder received prison sentences ranging between two weeks and five years.
The trials against those accused of collaborating with Israel started 10 days after the May 24, 2000 pullout of Israeli troops from south Lebanon. Since then, Beirut's military court has tried 2,613 suspected collaborators.
So far, 30 have been sentenced to death, all of them in absentia.
