Lebanon judges another 16 for collaboration with “Israel”

“ A Beirut military court has passed judgment on 16 more former pro-”Israeli” militia members, bringing near completion the marathon trials of more than 3,000 Lebanese, the chief prosecutor said Saturday.

Nasri Lahoud, quoted by the press, said 2,326 of the 3,010 defendants have been judged and that the trial should be over by the end of the year.

Thirteen people were sentenced to one year in prison, one to two years and two others were released in the trial Friday.

The marathon trial began June 5, just 10 days after “Israel” hastily withdrew its forces, ending a bloody 22-year occupation of southern Lebanon.

So far, 15 people have been sentenced to death and three others to life in prison, all by absentia.
