Lebanese MP Fares Buwaiz Denies he Collaborated with the “Israeli” Enemy

In Lebanon, the interrogations issue regarding contacts and collaboration with the “Israeli” enemy is expected to be back in focus amid information about possible summoning of names mentioned in the interrogations. The names list includes, as being circulated, a former minister and a current deputy who was a presidential candidate whom some information revealed was Fares Buwaiz. Judicial information mentioned that Buwaiz will be summoned but after his parliamentary immunities are lifted. Local newspapers mentioned that a meeting had been held between the presidential candidate, aboard a yacht he owned, and Antoine Bassil who received 2500 US dollars from the candidate to work out contacts with the “Israelis” to help him win the presidency. Buwaiz hurried to deny the accusations against him and accused persons of pushing Bassil to fabricate the story.
