Military court sentences 24 collaborators…(6)

A military court has sentenced 24 people to prison terms ranging from three weeks to seven years after it convicted them of collaboration and contacts with “Israel” during the occupation of south Lebanon.
The verdicts and sentences, handed down on late Wednesday, were posted on the court’s bulletin board at dawn Thursday.
One defendant was sentenced to seven years in prison, another to four years and a third to three years for collaborating with “Israel” and joining the “Israeli”-proxy militia.
Sixteen defendants received prison terms ranging from six months to two years for joining the militia, according to the court statement.
Two defendants were sentenced to two months in jail and three others for three weeks for entering “Israel”.
Most of the convicted defendants were also fined up to LL1 million. Judicial authorities have sentenced more than 2,129 people for collaboration after “Israel’s” withdrawal in May, with approximately 800 individuals awaiting trial.
