September Tuesday 28-1999:

Introduction
Yesterday, the Islamic Resistance (IR) mujahedeen dealt a new and painful blow to the "Israeli" enemy's agents and pledged to destroy the "Israeli"-backed militia force this year. Fawzi Saghir, an senior "Israeli"-allied militia officer in charge of the Beit Yahoun crossing point was killed along with his bodyguard as the IR men detonated a roadside bomb by his car on the road leading to Beit Yahoun compound in the Western Sector of the occupied zone.

Meanwhile, Hizbullah's Deputy General H.E. Sheikh Nahim Qassem said that Hizbullah knows what to do when the Zionists withdraw, adding, we will not tell the friend or the enemy about that in order not to benefit the Zionist enemy.

Top "Israeli" allied militia commander killed in Hizbullah attack
"The "Israeli" allied militia commander in charge of the Beit Yahoun crossing point was killed along with his bodyguard in a resistance attack in occupied southern Lebanon.

"Hizbullah has struck at the occupied Beit Yahoun region again. It was right here that Hizbullah scored one of its most successful operations on May 17, when it overran the post and captured an "Israeli" allied militiaman. Resistance fighters drove off with an Armored Personnel Carrier. An "Israeli"-backed militiaman was killed in the heavy clashes. The Beit Yahoun outpost was reportedly dismantled later on when militiamen refused "Israeli" orders to man the post, fearing similar resistance operations. Today, Hizbullah attacked the same area, killing Fawzi al-Saghir, commander of the border crossing of Beit Yahoun, which connects the occupied zone to the government-held territory. Two of his bodyguards were wounded, one seriously. The "Israeli" army expects one of them not to survive his injuries. Security sources said a civilian passer-by was also wounded. Hizbullah has unveiled its latest data on the militia over the weekend. It said the proxy force which occupies alongside "Israeli" forces some 10 percent of Lebanese territory to the south of the country, has lost 639 of its fighters since 1982, when "Israel" carried out a full scale invasion of Lebanon. But "Israel" only acknowledges the death of 312 militiamen. The militia which was formed and is being trained and financed by "Israel" started out with some 3000 men, but Hizbullah said its latest reports show that only 1500 men remain in the group, despite forced conscription and the many "Israeli" temptations to lure young men into their proxy militia. Hizbullah, which has been spearheading resistance efforts in occupied southern Lebanon, said the force mans fifty front-line outposts and is centrally located in five barracks. A series of successful resistance operations along with

Hizbullah's infiltration of the militia through its intelligence agents over the summer led to the liberation of the Jezzine enclave, which had been occupied since 1985. Hizbullah has dubbed 1999 as the 'year of the militia's collapse'. "Israeli" Prime Minister Ehud Barak has pledged to withdraw his occupation forces from Lebanon by July next year, ending more than 21 years of occupation of Lebanese land. He also promised to secure the safety of the militiamen, who face charges of collaborating with the enemy in Lebanese military courts. Hizbullah and the state have been calling on militiamen to defect. A growing number of fighters have been heeding the call. "Israel" has also been wary of the increased reports indicating that an increased number of its allied fighters have been aiding Hizbullah. Experts now believe the collapse of the militia in the eastern sector of the occupied zone, around the Hasbaya region, would hasten the withdrawal of "Israeli" occupation forces from that region, as was the case in Jezzine"… (1)

For its part, the Islamic Resistance (IR) issued a detailed communiqué over the confrontations in which it reported that " in line with its commitment to constant pursue of the "Israeli" occupation troops and the remains of its Lahdi collaborators, the Islamic Resistance (IR) has dealt a new painful blow to one of the prominent collaborators, an IR communiqué read.

Squad of Martyr  Hussein Bahij Nasser of IR's Special forces set an ambush for one of the security chiefs in the occupation's proxy militia at the Beit Yahoun-Bint Jbeil outpost road, the communiqué added.

"When the convoy of agent Fawzi Abdel-Karim al-Saghir reached the ambush site (at 10:55, Monday), IR men detonated a powerful roadside bomb that destroyed al-Saghir's car killing those in it.

"Furthermore, IR's squad of Martyr Ahmed Fadlallah blitzed the convoy. The Resistance men were able to move between the cars and kill the collaborator's bodyguards and assistants.

"In the meantime, squad of Martyr Ali Krayyem attacked the Baraasheit outpost with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades, destroying some of the outpost's ramparts and fortifications, thus barring the enemy troops in it from backing the targeted convoy.

"Moreover, squad of Martyrs Nazih Nassereddeen and Ziad Zahwi attacked and paralyzed the Beit Yahoun outpost which overlooks the clash area, while squad of Martyr Majed Jaffal staged a similar attack on the Haddatha outpost.

"Meanwhile, the enemy's warplanes and helicopters circled heavily over the area to back up the collaborators' militia as the outposts around the ambush site were unable to intervene.

"The collaborators' bodies remained in the battlefield for several hours.

"IR vows to its people and Ummah to go ahead in the path of Resistance until all the holy soil is liberated from the impurity of the occupation and its collaborators," the communiqué concluded.

Moreover, IR's squad of Martyr Mohammed Najm and Foad Abdallah at 15:00 Monday ambushed a Zionist convoy.

When the convoy reached the entrance of the Rihan barracks, IR men attacked it with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades in a violent and concentrated manner, hitting and burning a command car; those inside the vehicle were killed or injured.

In the meantime, squad of Martyrs Abbas Hammoud and Ibrahim al-Hajj targeted the barracks of the occupation's militia in al-Rihan.

The attack resulted in the destruction of the barracks' western ramparts in which there were enemy troops trying to back up the targeted convoy.

Definite casualties were sustained by the enemy forces besides the burning of a vehicle in the barracks as a result of the attack.
Moreover, squad of Martyr Foad Madani staged a similar attack on the Zionist barracks in Rihan scoring direct hits. Fire was seen billowing from both barracks all along the confrontations that went on for over 90 minutes.

Furthermore, IR's squad of Martyrs Hussein Jaber and Mohammed Hassan attacked the occupation's outpost in Bir Kallab from close quarters, while squad of Martyrs Hussein Mzannar and Fadi Hariri attacked the Sojod outpost.

IR men scored definite hits in both outposts, destroying two machine guns, one of them was 12.7mm caliber and the other a Browning, besides hitting the Sojod outpost's western rampart.

In the meantime, squad of Martyrs Mohammed Mrad and Foad Baalbaki of IR's Artillery Reinforcement unit pounded and silenced the enemy's artillery emplacement in the Zaffateh outpost with the appropriate weapons

Furthermore, the IR group of martyrs Hassan Issa Harqous and Ismail Abdel-Jalil attacked, at 18:30, an "Israeli" motorized force which was trying to back up the attacked Sojod outpost. The mujahedeen, who used the machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades, were able to hit M-113 armored vehicle and inflicting all of its occupants…(2)

Occupation is forced to withdraw against its will, says Hizbullah…(3)
"Hizbullah knows what to do when the Zionists withdraw; however, we won't tell the friend or the enemy (about that) in order not to benefit the Zionist enemy, Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General his Eminence Sheikh Nahim Qassem said.

"We want the enemy to remain confused, and we don't want to lose the initiative which is in our hands. When the "Israeli" complete withdrawal is achieved, we will announce our stand politically and practically, and people will know it then, he added.
"Speaking at a rally held by the Islamic Resistance to commemorate 40 days since IR's martyr commander Ali Hassan Deeb was martyred.

"The "Israeli" talk about withdrawal from the south and the Western Beqaa is due to two main reasons: the "Israeli" inability to invest the occupation's presence in Lebanon to achieve any gains, and the great pains its troops have been suffering as a result of the blows dealt by Islamic Resistance' men, he said.

"As staying in Lebanon has become a problem for them, they are forced to withdraw, against their will; besides the fact that they have not been able to impose their conditions, he added.

"The deputy secretary general noted that the "Israeli" "repeated talk about withdrawal on a daily basis, setting a timetable by Barak (July 7, 2000) aims to pressure Lebanon and Syria in the media. The "Israeli" is expressing readiness (to withdraw) to give legitimacy to its demand of striking the Resistance and stopping its operations, on the basis of its ("Israel's") unwillingness to exist in Lebanon."

""Israel", nevertheless, has not indeed set this timetable firmly on the grounds of an unconditional withdrawal. When he was asked about the pullout, Barak said he would answer later. The "Israeli" wants to conceal the answer to maintain the pressure cards in his hand to act in the way it deems appropriate according to developments", Sheikh Qassem said.

"Therefore, if, according to these (developments), it is in ""Israel's"" interest to withdraw unconditionally, he will abide by this date; but if he finds that the developments will allow for more maneuvers, he will declare that his readiness is sincere, but the problem is that others do not want him to withdraw because there is no deal, he added.

They are using the daily talk about withdrawal as means of pressure, and we will speak to them with resistance on a daily basis to exercise more pressure. They release words and we fire bullets, Qassem said.

"Speaking about the "Israeli" bombardment of a Lebanese army outpost in Sarba (south) which resulted in the martyrdom of one soldier, the deputy secretary general said," the reason is that "Israel" is outraged by the unity between the Resistance and the Lebanese army. Earlier, "Israel" has targeted infrastructures because it was annoyed by the current unity between the resistance, the army and the people."

Sheikh Qassem described the settlement process in the region as "unjust".

Even if it is completely accomplished and signed by all Arab states, the settlement which the American wants to impose on our region is unjust and rejected, he said.

"It has within itself all the elements of explosion in the region, for it legitimizes the expulsion of four million Palestinians from their homeland and scattering them in different countries", he concluded.

The Islamic Resistance (IR) announced with proud and before Imam Mahdi (Peace be upon him) the martyrdom of Abbas Ali Khreibani, born at Adsheit in 1979, single, joined the IR ranks in 1997, subjected to several cultural and military courses and participated in a number of military operations. "Israeli" protesters urged Barak to release Ibrahim Immediately…(6)
"In "Israel", human rights activists gathered outside the Defense Ministry to protest at the detention of Lebanese journalist Cosette Ibrahim in the occupied Khiam village.

"Some 30 protestors demanded that "Israeli" Prime Minister Ehud Barak release the 25-year-old freelance journalist.

"She was seized on Sept. 2 near Rmeish village in the occupied zone with two men identified as De Gaulle Bou Taleb, 40, and Samir Khiami, 22.

"Mohammad Barakeh, the leader of the communist Hadash party in the Knesset, "Israel's" parliament, urged Barak to release Ibrahim immediately.

“I sent the prime minister a letter urging him to release the journalist and asking him to grant me permission to visit her and assess the situation on the ground,” the Arab "Israeli" MP said. “The government is acting like a gang of highway robbers. This time they went too far,” he said, putting the responsibility for Ibrahim’s detention on "Israel's" shoulders.

“"Israel" is responsible for what goes on in Khiam, I know that because I’m in touch with people detained there. I reject "Israeli" claims that it is run by the SLA*,” he added.
