September Tuesday 14 -1999:
Introduction
Hizbullahs Secretary General H.E. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah asserted
that because there are wounded and dead Israelis being carried back to
"Israel" we hear such calls for withdrawal, adding, the US is responsible
for any Israeli aggression that could be committed against Lebanon and
its people.
Meanwhile, the "Israeli" daily Maariv reported that "Israels" Army is at work on plans for a withdrawal from South Lebanon within the next ten months whether a peace deal is reached with Beirut and Damascus or not.
However, the journalist Cosette Ibrahim who was arrested by "Israels" allied militia in occupied Southern Lebanon at her home village last week has been admitted to Marjeyoun Hospital for treatment after she was tortured.
Hizbullahs secretary general: The Resistance is the only liberating
sword for Lebanon
(1)
"The Islamic Resistance held a ceremony for the remembrance of the
martyr Sayyed Ahmed Ibrahim Fadlallah which was attended by Hizbullahs
secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the MP Nazih Mansour, the former
MP Ali Ammar and Sayyed Ali Fadlallah who was representing his father Sayyed
Mohamed Hussein Fadlallah. "Sayyed Nasrallah said that what is needed to
liberate southern Lebanon and the western Beqaa is not just words of refusal
but what is needed is the increase of the resistance, adding that the calls
from within Israel for the withdrawal is the result of the resistance.
Because there are wounded and dead Zionists being carried back to Israel
we hear such calls for withdrawal. And that is why we see delegations that
come and go to Lebanon from all over the world, not only the Americans
following the visit of Albright, but we will soon witness more faces that
will come and go that will try and serve the Zionist cause.
"He added that they come to us these days to try and achieve that by promises of peace that can be gained from the peace talks, they say that this is a historic chance to achieve peace. They talk of all that just to have the opportunity to put a hold on the resistance in the south but the Lebanese and Syrian answer is quite clear in this matter. And I say in this ceremony that as long as there is an inch of our land that is under occupation the resistance will continue.
"He also said we must confirm to all who can hear that the US is responsible for any Zionist aggression that is committed on Lebanon and the people of Lebanon no matter how small that aggression may be. No Lebanese should believe that the American administration is concerned with peace in this region, or that they are just. We must always remind people that the US is the permanent Israeli partner".
"ISRAELI" PRESS REPORTS SAY ARMY PLANNING WITHDRAWAL FROM SOUTHERN
Lebanon
(2)
""Israeli" press reports, said the "Israeli" army is working on plans
for a withdrawal from southern Lebanon within the next 10 months. More
in this report.
" According to the "Israeli" daily Maariv, the "Israeli" army is at work on plans for a withdrawal from southern Lebanon within the next 10 months whether or not a peace deal is reached with Beirut and Damascus - who coordinate their negotiating positions. The "Israeli" Prime Minister Ehud Barak has pledged to withdraw all "Israeli" troops from Lebanon by July 7,2000 - the one year anniversary of his election. The daily added the army has also begun exercises simulating a withdrawal from the Syrian Golan Heights in case a peace accord is reached with Syria. It said intelligence and logistics units were taking part in the mock withdrawal which began several weeks ago and is aimed at finding a way to ensure continued surveillance of Syria without any military presence in the Golan. Officials are also reportedly looking at possible sites for the relocation of bases and training camps from the strategic plateau under orders of Barak who also acts as defense minister"

FEMALE JOURNALIST SAID BRUTALLY TORTURED BY "ISRAELI" OCCUPATION
FORCES
(4)
"A journalist who was arrested by "Israel's" allied militia in occupied
southern Lebanon at her home village inside the occupied zone last week
has been admitted to Marjeyoun hospital for treatment after she was tortured,
Lebanese security sources said Monday. "She was brutally tortured at Khiam
jail and needed treatment," the sources said. Cosette Ibrahim, 21, who
works for the daily Al Liwaa, was arrested at her hometown of Rmeish in
the western sector of the zone "Israel" occupies last week. Her brother,
Khalil Ibrahim, reported her arrest to the chairman of Lebanon's News Reporters
Association, Milhem Karam, saying she was taken by "Israeli" troops to
the notorious Khiam detention center. Karam described Ibrahim's arrest
as an "uncivilized and non- humanitarian act by occupation forces, especially
since she has committed no offense beyond her professional coverage of
events in the border zone". A relative of Ibrahim who refused to give his
name said "Israel's" allied militia and "Israel" accused the female journalist
of "collaborating" with the Lebanese army by giving them information about
"Israeli" activities inside the zone. He added that another journalist,
Joseph Ibrahim, who also works at Al Liwaa, has also been detained inside
the zone. The relative did not indicate whether Joseph was related to Cosette.
Jospeh Ibrahim, 25, was taken to Khiam on charges of "collaborating" with
Hizbullah, the main party battling "Israeli" occupation forces in the south.
The relative told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that they have dispatched
messages to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Amnesty
International and Reporters Sans Frontieres to exert pressure on the "Israeli"
government to gain Ibrahim's release. Along with Jospeh Ibrahim, several
Lebanese men were arrested in Rmeish and taken to Khiam prison too, the
sources said. Maltreatment and torture are systematic and documented at
Khiam. Some 181 Lebanese men and women, among them a 70-year-old woman,
and a number of young children, are still detained there".
