September Wednesday 1-1999:

One pilotless reconnaissance plane disappeared over Lebanon…(1)
"The "Israeli" Army admitted Tuesday that one of its pilotless reconnaissance planes, known as drones, had disappeared over Lebanon.

"The "Israelis" deploy drones over Lebanon on an almost constant basis to provide real-time TV images of movement on the ground. Their high-pitched whine is a familiar sound in the south, although the drones usually fly at an altitude that makes them inaudible and invisible.

"They can be used to detect resistance fighters in the field, allowing helicopter gunships or warplanes to attack the guerrillas before they know they have been spotted.

"Drones can also been used to relay radio signals to trigger explosive devices. Drones were in the skies above Sidon when Ali Deeb, the Hizbullah military official, was killed in a double roadside bomb blast last month".

"Israeli" Aggressions…(2)
The "Israeli" occupying forces staged the following aggressions:
11:15, one 120mm shell hit Mansouri plain igniting a blaze.
11:25, the "Israeli" fighter-bombers raided into the area between Jibaa and Arab Salim towns.
Between 17:15 and 17:40, the perimeters of Loweizeh came under seven 120mm shells and five 155mm missiles.
17:15, five 120mm shells struck the peripheries of Jibaa.
Between 17:25 and 18:25, Arid El-Zennar area was bombarded by thirty five 120mm shells.
17:30, three 120mm shells landed Mount Abou Rkab.
17:40, Mount Sojod was shelled by four 155mm missiles.

Ten minutes later, the IR squad of martyrs Abdel-Karim Dakdouk and Hussein Abdel-Hussein Cherri fell upon an enemy force as it was beefing up the abovementioned position. The smoke columns were seen billowing out of it.

Also, the IR group of martyrs Youssef Rihan and Hussein Ali Haidar rushed upon an "Israeli" force at Rihan hilltops preventing it from backing up the attacked position.

In the meantime, the IR team of martyrs Ghassan Zaatar and Mohammad Hussein Simhat targeted Bir Kallab outpost with the machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades striking its western fortification…(3)

"In a continuation of Amal’s assaults to commemorate the disappearance of Imam Moussa Sadr 21 years ago, the movement’s fighters struck a number of positions in the morning. A statement said the Hamra crossing into the occupation zone in the western sector was attacked and a building set on fire.

"The two militiamen were wounded when mortar rounds hit the Soweida post at the southern end of Arab Salim village. "Israeli" warplanes dropped two bombs into the Nabaa al-Tasseh on the edge of the zone to the east of Arab Salim. "In the evening, the Mheisbat and Baraasheit outposts were attacked with mortar rounds. No casualties were reported"…(4)
