The occupation forces suddenly bombarded the town of Arabsalim. Saleh was near her house that was damaged along with several houses in the town by the shrapnel of the fissionable bombs used by the occupation forces.

Nabatieh Governor Mahmoud al-Mawla visited Arabsalim, checked on the wounded woman before he instructed the electricity, water, and public works' teams to reconstruct what was damaged by the occupation forces.

Enemy warplanes, on the other hand, launched more aggressions, staging (Wednesday evening) several raids on a Wadi between the towns of Zawtar al-Gharbieh and Zawtar al-Sharqieh and firing a number of air-to-ground missiles. No casualties were reported.

Today (yesterday), the occupation maintained the pattern of staging mock air raids over the villages adjacent to the occupied zone.

ISRAELI ARMY WILL PRESENT PULLOUT PLAN FROM SOUTH LEBANON WITHIN A MONTH … (3)
The Israeli army is to present its plan for a withdrawal from south Lebanon to Prime Minister Ehud Barak next month. Chief of staff Shaul Mofaz said the army will not raise objections to a unilateral withdrawal if that is the thrust of the government's policy in the months ahead.

Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz said the army has been told that they have to prepare the ground for leaving Lebanon with an agreement by July 2000. During a tour near the Lebanese border yesterday, Mofaz said the army is now preparing for this and the plan will be presented for approval next month. Once it is approved, the army will begin implementing it. Barak has set a deadline of July 2000 to pull out Israeli troops from southern Lebanon. Mofaz said the army would not raise any objections to a unilateral withdrawal without an agreement with Syria. This indicates there has been a certain shift in thinking of the army on the subject. Until now, the army has been opposed to a unilateral withdrawal even if its senior officers have always taken care to stress that they will obey any decision made by the political level. According to Israeli television the withdrawal plans will take into account both a unilateral pullout and a withdrawal with a security agreement. For his part, Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy, speaking in Turkey, said Israel will carry out a withdrawal by the July deadline with or without an agreement with Beirut and Damascus. Levy said a withdrawal linked to an agreement would be preferable. But if this cannot be achieved, Israel cannot remain embroiled in Lebanon forever. Israel has more than 1,000 soldiers in the occupation zone. It has been occupying parts of the south since 1978 despite UN resolution 425 which called on it to leave the area immediately.
