of the occupation's outpost in Ramia.
When the force reached the ambush site, IR men peppered it with their machine guns, inflicting definite casualties in the enmy ranks.

AUMG discusses occupation's violations
The repeated violations by the Israeli occupation forces of the April
Understanding were discussed today by the understanding's panel which includes
Lebanon. Syria, France, the US, and the Israeli entity.
AUMG examined 11 Lebanese complaints over the damage inflicted on 24 houses in villages hit by the Israeli occupation's bombardment and air raids.
The occupation forces filed 5 complaints claiming that the Resistance fired on occupation forces from populated areas.
Vedrine relayed Barak's threats, Lahoud:
"strikes and intimidation will not change our position"
Lebanese official sources unveiled that French Foreign Minister Hubert
Vedrine relayed - during his visit to Beirut last week - the threats made
by the Israeli entity's prime Minister Ehud Barak against Lebanon and Syria.
After he stated his view regarding the settlement process in the region, Vedrine told President Gen Emile Lahoud that Barak - during his Paris visit - told the French officials that he will withdraw unilaterally if the Syrians did not accept to resume negotiations, the sources said.
"Barak added that if Lebanon also refused to start talks, the Israeli army would withdraw and guarantee its borders' security by itself."
Vedrine said Barak's threat was clear. The Israeli official told French President Jacques Chirac that any military activity from the Lebanese side of the border will be met with large (Israeli) military operations that will include Lebanese infrastructures and the Lebanese and Syrian armies on Lebanese territories.
The Lebanese official sources said President Lahoud told Vedrine, "These statements are not new. We have been receiving such threats for some time and we know all their details."
Our position is based on clear calculations and invariable stands that are not subject to debate or discussion, Lahoud said, adding "Just and comprehensive peace cannot be achieved unless "Israel" withdraws from Syria and Lebanon, along with the release of the detainees in the enemy prisons, and finding a solution for the issue of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and the Arab countries."
The president added, according to the sources, "All intimidation and strikes will not be able to drag us into a position different from the one we embrace in established conviction."
Separation of (Lebanese and Syrian) tracks means internal destruction of Lebanon, and we know this very well, Lahoud concluded.
Detainees in Israeli prisons will be heroes,
President ...(1)
President Gen Emile Lahoud said on Monday that Lebanese detainees would
go down in history as "heroes," having made great sacrifices for their
country.
Lahoud was speaking during an audience in Baabda with Mustafa Tawbeh and his teenage son, Ali, who were released from Israeli al-Khiam detention center last week. The president stressed that "regaining our territories and rights cannot come as a coincidence. It is the direct result of daily sacrifices, resistance operations and steadfastness in the face of the occupation."
He pledged to spare no effort to secure the release of all detainees, stressing that "the detention by Israel of civilians is a flagrant violation of international law and conventions."
Hizbullah blasts Blat and Ramieh with mortars
and machine guns ...(2)
Hizbullah fighters on Tuesday mounted attacks against Israeli targets
in Blat and Ramieh during which several mortar rounds exploded in the northern
Galilee.
According to a statement by Hizbullah, the afternoon operation targeted an Israeli armored patrol near the Ramieh outpost, which is located on the border. While one squad attacked the soldiers with machine guns, a support team fired mortar rounds at the Israeli position, the statement said. Security sources said that some of the mortar shells landed inside Israel but caused no damage.
Simultaneously, a second Hizbullah squad attacked the hilltop Blat position, 500 meters north of the border and 2 kilometers from Ramieh. The statement said a mortar team destroyed some of the posts fortifications and set fire to equipment.
Israeli warplanes responded with air strikes north of the zone in the vicinity of Yater. Some 10 bombs were dropped in three sorties into wadis between Yater, Zibqine and Jabal Botom in a bid to hit Hizbullahs mortar teams.
No casualties were reported.
Prime Minister Salim Hoss is scheduled to meet a delegation from Palestinian Islamic Jihad Wednesday. The delegation, headed by Abu Imad Rifai, is expected to discuss the premiers call for Palestinian groups to refrain from attacking Israeli targets in south Lebanon.
Jihads resumption of military operations in the south last month has raised fears that Palestinian groups could destabilize the area following an Israeli troop withdrawal. Jihad has so far refused to say whether it will abide by Hoss demand.
The five-nation Monitoring Group on Tuesday blamed both Lebanon and Israel for violating the April Understanding.
The group, which comprises delegates from Lebanon, Syria, France, Israel and the US, convened in Naqoura at 10am to hear 16 complaints.
Lebanon filed 11 over extensive property damage in villages such as Braachit, Haddatha, Jarjoue, Khirbet Silm, Arab Salim and Zawtar Gharbieh from Israeli shelling and air strikes. The group blamed Israel for violating the understanding on all 11 counts.
Similarly, Lebanon was blamed for Israels five complaints, three of which were accusations that the resistance launched attacks from populated areas. The remaining two complaints were for the wounding of a civilian in Houla by a recoilless rifle round and the mysterious roadside bomb explosion in the center of Markaba. The unclaimed bomb attack occurred on Saturday and had no specific target. The group acknowledged that the bombing required further investigation.
Six weeks after Major General Joiji Konrote departed Lebanon at the end of his two-year term as UNIFIL commander, UN headquarters in New York has finally named his successor, Major General Seth Kofi Obeng, a Ghanaian. Obeng will take up his new post on Dec. 1.
Obeng was apparently the leading candidate for some time before his appointment was confirmed. However, the delay stemmed from the UN having to seek approval from both Lebanon and Israel over the appointment. A UN source said that an additional problem was the Finnish government hoping to field its own candidate as UNIFIL commander. Finland contributes a battalion to the 4,500-strong peacekeeping force. It wasnt a serious effort by the Finns as they could hardly oppose someone from Kofi Annans own country, the source said.
