"Israel' weighed chance of militia collapse…(1)
""Israel" made contingency plans last week for the collapse of its client militia in Lebanon, "Israeli" senior war officials said Monday".

"They said the plans were discussed at an urgent security cabinet meeting while the collaborating militia withdrew under fire from the Jezzine enclave in Lebanon".

"The officials, who spoke on condition they not be identified, said the security cabinet approved steps war minister Moshe Arens would take in case the situation deteriorated.

"In one scenario, the cabinet considered the possibility that militiamen would abandon their outposts en masse in the occupation zone.

"The officials did not say how "Israel" would respond to such a development. The war ministry declined official comment.

"The collaborating militia completed its withdrawal from Jezzine last Thursday and its 2,000 agents continue helping "Israel" patrol the occupied zone.

A source of the so-called "Israeli" army northern command, however, said the "Israeli" occupation and its collaborating militia will continue fighting Hizbullah.

"The source denied that more than 200 militiamen deserted in Jezzine, stating that around ninety agents have moved to the occupied zone and some forty others will quit the militia.

"Nevertheless, the head of Mashmoushe Monastery Father Boulos Khawand said more than 180 of the 203 militiamen turned themselves in so far to the Lebanese army, pointing out that the surrender process will be completed by Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning at the most.

"In addition, the Lebanese Army's Intelligence Directorate referred 22 Lahdi collaborators, who had surrendered to the army, to Military Prosecutor General Nasri Lahoud".
