January Sunday 02-2000:
Hizbullah
on al-Quds Day: the Holy city is alive
(1)
Hizbullah Secretary his Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah underlined that al-Quds
(Jerusalem) is an eternal historical truth that can never be abolished, forged,
lost or forgotten.
Speaking at the annual parade held by Hizbullah in Beirut to mark al-Quds Day,
Sayyed Nasrallah said, "Marking this occasion every year has two sides:
marking al-Quds Day and marking the course and method of al-Quds' imam, the
Ummah's imam, inspirer, leader, the revolution's maker, the resurrection
creator, the one who restored religion and hope in the twentieth century and on
the eve of the third millennium: the Great Imam Khomeini."
"On
al-Quds Day, we need to stress some facts:
First, when we say al-Quds, we don't mean Eastern
al-Quds, or the holy city itself, for al-Quds is a symbol that stands for all of
Palestine and all the Ummah that is targeted by the Zionist arrogant project
which has been underway in our countries for over 50 years.
"Let
the whole world hear these final words, before and after the settlement process:
"Israel" is a cancerous usurping entity that has no legitimacy or
legality; it was established on terrorism, usurpation, injustice, suppression,
expulsion of peoples, and perpetrating massacres.
"Israel
can never become legal or legitimate as a result of signatures, settlements, or
accords. No one on this earth has the right to give one grain of sand from
Palestine to these Jewish usurpers.
"As
for us, the Ummah of Hizbullah, as part of this opposed and targeted nation on
the eve of the third millennium, we say it publicly, with our voices and blood,
with all strength: we do not recognize that a state, even village or farm,
called Israel exists, even if the whole world recognizes it; Israel, will always
be the enemy.
"It
can never become friend or neighbor, one can not talk about coexistence or
neighborhood with the criminals, racists, killers, massacre perpetrators in
Lebanon, Palestine and the Arab world. These facts can not be abolished by
accords; "Israel" is still an enemy in the eyes of the people in Egypt
and Jordan. It will always be as such as far as the peoples of our Arab and
Islamic Ummah are concerned.
"Lebanon,
all of Lebanon, will not forsake one grain of its national soil or any of its
national rights: our soil is not only the patches which have been added recently
to the fence area, or the Shibaa farmsteads, for the seven villages are also
part and parcel of Lebanon. No Lebanese, no matter what his position is, has the
right to give up these territories.
"We
don't have to make concessions or pay prices, for our territories are being
recovered with the blood of our martyrs, with the sweat of our resistance men,
with the patience of the martyrs' mothers, with the orphans' tears.
"The
Ummah has to examine two models: that of the resistance in Lebanon and that of
Arafat's negotiations, then the Ummah can choose.
Hizbullah
Secretary General announces martyr's name
(2)
Hizbullah Secretary General his Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah announced that
the martyr who carried out Thursday's martyrdom attack against the
"Israeli" occupation forces was Ammar Hussein Hammoud.
Ammar
is the brother of Martyr Mohammed Hammoud who was martyred a year ago and his
body is still held by the occupation forces, Sayyed Nasrallah said.
"Ammar
was born in the occupied town of Dibbeen (Marjeyoun district) in 1979, he joined
IR in 1995, was member of the martyrdom brigades since these brigades were
established. He was martyred while fasting on al-Qadr Night in 1420 A.H. -
January 30, 1999.
I
would like to say something about this martyr's family which I had talked about
at an earlier rally at the Secretariat Square when we received the half-track
which was captured by IR men from the occupation forces' outpost in Bait Yahoun.
"I
told you then that I was visited by the father of a martyr who had six sons, one
of them was martyred.
"The
father, who came along with his wife and sons, told me, 'Martyr Mohammed has
gone to his Lord; we are satisfied and proud about that. But we are here, my
wife, my sons, and myself, to tell you that my five sons are to be offered as
sacrifices to this course. They are at your service. If all the children are
martyred, I am ready to be martyred and so is my wife.'
"Only
a few months after this meeting, one of the five came to be the Martyr of
al-Qadr Night.
"As
for martyr Ammar, when I bid him farewell he told me, "I heard that if a
family offers two martyrs, the rest of the sons are not allowed to take part in
Resistance operations. I want my brothers excluded from this decision and
allowed to go along the path of Jihad and Martyrdom, for I don't want to shut
this great door in the faces of my four brothers whom I love and want to be
resistance men and martyrs."
"As
for the father, when he received the news he said, 'I have fulfilled my pledge
and I keep the vow I made along with my four sons.'
Sayyed
Nasrallah commented, "these are our martyrs and these are their
families."
