Rapin hits out at “Israeli” occupation… (1)
“In an unusual admission from a member of the five-nation Monitoring Group, its French president, Laurent Rapin, said that the main reason Lebanese civilians in the south were being injured at all was because of “Israel’s” occupation of the area”.

“Rapin said after meeting foreign minister Fares Boueiz with French ambassador Daniel Jouanneau: “It’s regrettable that “Israel” has occupied Lebanese territory where armed confrontations are taking place. This is the main reason for the many casualties sustained by Lebanese civilians and the considerable material damage inflicted on various facilities. The monitoring group was formed to monitor and contain the burden of war on civilians in south Lebanon.”

“On August 1, Rapin resumed the rotating presidency of the group, formed after “Israel’s” April 1996 (Aggression). It was his first visit to Boueiz since taking up his responsibilities again.”

The ship was held for more than half an hour before it was allowed to continue its way to the city's harbor”… (2)
