Introduction
The commander of "Israelis" proxy militia said the collaborators would
be ready to retreat from Jezzine area, a enclave on the edge of the "Israeli"-occupied
region in South Lebanon area on condition that the Islamic Resistance (IR)
fighters should stop their attacks on the "Israeli" troops and his members.
In this connection, the news reported that the collaborator militia destroyed another outpost near Kfar Houna crossing point two days after detonating the strategic Toumat Niha outpost.
Lahd repeats offer to pull out of Jezzine with some conditions
(1)
"The commander of the (so-called) South Lebanon Army, Antoine Lahd,
said that his militia was prepared to pull out of Jezzine and return the
enclave to the government.
However, a withdrawal would be contingent on the armys assuming control of Jezzine and preventing the resistance from staging attacks on the (collaborators) from the district.
The South Lebanon Army is prepared to pull out from Jezzine if the Lebanese state takes over and commits to banning access to armed groups and preventing the region from being used as a base for operations against us, Lahd told Agence France Presse.
"Lahds comments came days after the ("Israel's" agents) redeployed from the Toumat Niha position, southeast of Jezzine, after eight militiamen were killed this year in an upsurge of attacks on the post by Hizbullah guerrillas."
"The militiamen have established a position at Ain Majdaleen, 2km to the south, which will act as a new early warning observation post for the "Israeli" troops stationed at nearby Kfar Houna, whose numbers have been reinforced in the past few days. A dirt track has reportedly been constructed between Ain Majdaleen and Kfar Houna. "
"However, a senior security source pointed out that there was nothing radically new in Lahds position and that ultimately any decision to withdraw from Jezzine was up to "Israel"".
Lahd is Israels messenger boy and his remarks are basically what "Israel"
wants, the source said.
Lahd's proposal was seen by the Lebanese government as not but a mere
reiteration of "Israeli" Jezzine First offer.
"A Lebanese official said "Lahd's proposal will not pass. What is required is a withdrawal similar to the one from Toumat Niha".
"The Lebanese government knows what to do in the event of a withdrawal by the collaborator militia", the official added.
After the Toumat Niha retreat, proxy militia destroys another
outpost near Kfar Houna
(2)
"The Lebanese daily al-Nahar today said the collaborator militia destroyed
another outpost near the Kfar Houna Crossing two days after dynamiting
the strategic outpost of Toumat Niha."
"The "Israeli" enemy's engineering force reinforced the fortifications at the Kfar Houna Crossing, the newspaper added in a clear indication of direct existence by the occupation troops in the Jezzine enclave. "
"The "Israeli"-occupation forces and their proxy militia's withdrawal from the Toumat Niha outpost (western Beqaa) was a prelude for withdrawal from other villages at different stages. The "Israeli" plan for withdrawal from Jezzine has begun, and some of this plan's features are starting to be clear," security sources said.
"Meanwhile, a Hizbullah senior official said evacuating the Toumat Niha outpost was evidence to the proxy militia's extreme weakness as it is no longer able to secure militiamen to defend this outpost which was the target of several successful operations by the Islamic Resistance (IR) killing and wounding a large number of the collaborators."
"Evacuation of the outpost can be viewed as a new victory by IR which was able to force the collaborators to abandon the outpost; a move which nears the Resistance and its people to full liberation," the Hizbullah official said.
"The 1,700-meter-high hilltop post, which was established in 1985 by the "Israeli" occupation forces, has commanding views of the western Beqaa to the east, Jezzine to the west and the central sector to the south."
"Toumat Niha's primary role was to act as an observation post to provide early warning of resistance activity to "Israeli" occupation troops stationed at Kfar Houna, 5km southwest at the southern end of the Jezzine enclave."
"Forty-four attacks had been staged by IR on or around the post since February 1987. Eleven of them were carried out this year in which eight militiamen were killed and three wounded," a Hezbollah statement read.
"Meanwhile, security sources disclosed that 150 militiamen, most of
them from the disbanded "Lebanese Forces" militia, were brought from Cyprus
last Wednesday by the "Israeli" occupation forces and their collaborators
to cover the shortage of militiamen, al-Kifah al-Arabi daily said today."
"The militiamen disembarked at the Naqoura port and were distributed
to the proxy militia's barracks. They will be deployed in Jezzine next
month after undergoing a training course," the newspaper quoted security
sources as saying.
"The daily said that only 63 militiamen remained in Jezzine as many collaborators either fled the occupied zone or resigned from the militia."
