Islamic Resistance Operations (2):
In its statement, the Islamic Resistance adopted the following attacks:
5:30, the group of two martyrs Ismail Younes and Riad Bjeiji attacked Toumat Niha with the machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades destroying completely some of its defenses and chalking up direct goals.

Five minutes later and as the “Israeli” troops opened fire at Jarjoua village, the group of martyr Mohammad Ali El-Husseini set off a big roadside bomb destroying the main fortification and inflicting a number of casualties among the “Israeli” soldiers.

Exchange of Hostages and Corpses:
Hizbullah’s sources (3) made it clear that the negotiations run by the International Committee for the Red Cross to complete the exchange process between Hizbullah and “Israel” are now about the mechanism of the implementation. The swap is expected to release about sixty Lebanese detainees and forty resistance corpses in exchange for delivering “Israel” the bodily remains of an “Israeli” soldier who had been killed in Insarieh last year.

The “Israeli” Deputy Minister of Defense Siavan Shaloum said the negotiations over exchanging hostages and body parts are in operation.

For his part, France’s Ambassador to Lebanon Daniel Jwanou (4) disclaimed that his country has a role in the negotiations process, happened now between “Israel” and Hizbullah, over exchanging the Lebanese hostages captured in “Israel’s” prisons with the remains of an “Israeli” soldier killed on September 1997.

After a meeting held with the Secretary General of Foreign Affairs Ministry Zafer El-Hassan, Jwanou answered a question about the French role in the negotiations by saying: “I reiterate what the President Jacques Chirac had said in his past press conference held in Beirut on May 31. The only negotiator in this process is the International Committee for the Red Cross”.

On the other hand, the negotiations process over exchanging the hostages and corpses had taken too long time to settle dawn finally on the following principles (5):

 - Equating lives with the corpses and not corpses in return for corpses as “Israel” said before.

 - Releasing hostages detained at Khiam detention camp as well as those who are captured in the “Israeli” jails.

 - Liberating one third of the Lebanese hostages from “Israel’s” jails and two thirds from Khiam detention camp.

 - Applying the seniority principle in choosing the names of hostages.

Also, the exchange will not confine only to Hizbullah’s hostages but will extend to include Communist Party, Amal Movement and other parties.

The negotiations finally, resulted in releasing sixty hostages whereas “Israel” had agreed, in the beginning, to release only twenty. However, “Israel” had acknowledged that it has forty resistance corpses raising, thus, another problem about the fate and whereabouts of the others. This problem is under negotiations now.
