On 20 February 1999, the Third Women's Empowerment Project Exhibition was opened under the title of "Women for the First Time".  The exhibition was organized in coordination with the Ministry of Culture in the Lama Brothers Hall in Gaza.

Mr. Awni Asfour, GCMHP Administrator, opened the exhibition on behalf of Dr. Eyad El-Sarraj by giving a description of the various activities of the Gaza Community Mental Health Program.  In addition, Mr. Asfour stressed the importance of the services provided to local women through the Women's Empowerment Project in an effort to improve their status and resolve the problems they face.  Moreover, Mr. Asfour thanked the Ministry of Culture for facilitating the opening of the exhibition.

Ms. Asatif Sa'doun, the exhibit coordinator, welcomed the guests and thanked the Ministry of Culture for its assistance in organizing and opening the exhibit.

The exhibit was from 20-23 February, 1999.
