On 5 June 1999, three recipients of the Right Livelihood Award visited GCMHP. Dr. Rami Heilbronn coordinated the visit to Gaza.
The group held a press conference at GCMHP in which they talked about the purpose of their visit to Israel, to lobby for the release of Mordecai Vanunu. In addition, they expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people in their efforts in exposing Israeli violations, especially with regards to environmental hazards. They also stressed the importance of studying and stopping the effects of the proximity of the Israeli nuclear reactor in Dimona.
The group also met with Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Riyad El-Za'noun, and discussed the dangers of nuclear radiation of the Dimona reactor and its effects on the Palestinian people.
