Dr. Inge Genefke
Dr. Genefke was born in Denmark. She graduated from
the School of Medicine at the University of Denmark. She established the
first medical group under Amnesty International in 1974. Currently, there
are medical groups for Amnesty International in more than 40 countries.
She believes that torture victims suffer from “After Torture Effects” (A
completely new knowledge at the time). She founded the first rehabilitation
center for torture victims in the world, located in Denmark. Moreover,
she has been working against torture since then. The IRCT now has 99 centers
all over the world. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of GCMHP. |
