1.1 In-service training
 
1.1.a Group therapy:
 
Professionals of GCMHP have participated in group therapy training course. The course started on 1993 for 5 years. A Norwegian group psychotherapist, Dr. Freddy Reddy, visited GCMHP for this purpose twice a year, two weeks each visit. As a continuation of the course the professionals of GCMHP have participated in group therapy training course. The course started on 1993 for 5 years. 1.1.d Diploma course
 
The curriculum will place the study of Mental Health within the wider social, political, and environmental and biology contacts. It will analyses the length between Mental Health and Human Rights. In January 1997, 15 students started therapist graduate Diploma in Community Mental Health, The Diploma aims equip candidates with knowledge and skills related to Community Mental Health.
 
1.1.e Workshops and Study days:
 
- On 6th July 1997, a member of HRC participated in a workshop in cooperation with Fatah Youth Movement in Alazhar University with title of “Factors affecting marriage and violence in families”.
-On 15th July 1997, Mr. Ahmad Abu Tawahina participated in a workshop with title; “Five year Health Plan” which did the Ministry of Health organize.
- On 16th July, a member of Human Rights Committee participated in a workshop for children care givers with title” communication in Palestinian Society”.
- On 28th August 1997, Mr. Ahmed Abu Tawahina, Dr. Mustafa El Masri, Mr. Hasan Ziada have conducted a workshop on “Honor Killing of women”. Professionals attended it from GCMHP and women from Women Empowerment Project.

- On 9th September 1997, Mr. Ahmad Abu Tawahina, Dr. Tyser Diad have conducted a study day about personality and social rearing was held at GCMHP.

- On 22-23rd September, a member of HRC participated in a workshop held in Community Mental Health Department-Ministry of Health with a title” Crisis intervention”. Members of Swedish Red Cross in cooperation with MOH conducted this.

- On 4th November, Dr. Abdel Aziz Thabet and Ziad Awad participated in a workshop entitlef ”Drug abuse” at El Amal Rehabilitation Centre in Khan Younis. The participants were 20 persons.

- On 6th November 1997, Mr Saber El Neirab and Mr Ziad Awad participated in a workshop entitled” the counseling” in AL Ahli Hospital in Gaza.

- On 13 November 1997 Human Rights Team conducted a workshop entitles “Case management of VHR cases”. All GCMHP participated in this workshop.

- On 11th December 1997 Members of the HRT participated in a study day entitled ”Depression” in GCMHP.

- On 15th December, Dr, Abdel Aziz Thabet participated in a workshop conducted by Strategic Research Centre in National Military and presented a paper entitled ”Psychological and Mental effects of torture”.

- 16th December, Dr, Tyser Diab, Ziad Awad, and Saber El Neirab participated in a workshop conducted by GCMHP in Jabalia entitled “Drug Addiction”

- On 22nd December Dr. Abdel Aziz Thabet and Samir Quata participated in the International conference “ Children in Armed Conflict” conducted by International Association for Defence of Children. Samir Quata presented a paper “ home demolition and mental health of children”. In Jerusalem.

- On 23rd December 1997, Human rights team conducted a workshop entitled ”Consequences of violence in Palestinian Society”. Dr. Abdel Aziz Thabet, Samir Quata, Rafiq Awadalla, and Abdel Hamid Afana presented papers concerning the violence.

- On 28th December, Dr. Tyser Diab participated in a workshop conducted by Women Empowerment Project entitled ”Divorce in Palestinian Society”.

- On 28th December, Mr. Ahmad Abu Tawahina participated in a workshop in Palestinian Red Crescent entitled ”Networking among NGO in Gaza Strip”.

- On 28th December, Dr. Adel Aziz Thabet participated in a workshop in Palestinian Ministry of Health entitled ”Health five years plan” in Gaza.

1.1.f Clinical supervision

Eight members of the human rights committee had been supervised by a Swedish psychotherapist, Dr. Binnei Anderson twice, 1 month (July-August 1997) and. Another month from 28th November 1997 to 18th December 1997.

A Palestinian Psychiatrist (Dr. Thabet) is supervising members of the Human rights team in CGMHP clinics starting from 1st October 1997.
