The Center for International Studies in the University of
Chicago held a conference on 50 Years after 1948: Human Rights in Israel
and Palestine last May. Dr. Eyad El-Sarraj presented a paper on The Nakba
of Palestine and Human Rights in which he talked about the establishment
of Israel at the expense of the Palestinian people, who were systematically
uprooted. He also pointed to Israels policies of humiliation, torture,
and destruction of the Palestinian individual and society.
