Introduction:

The Education for Awareness and Involvement (EAI) Program was established in 1986 by the Evangelical Lutheran schools in cooperation with Bier Zeit University in an attempt to make the school education system more relevant to the needs of the individual and the society. In 1992 the Children for the Protection of Nature in Palestine CPNP program was emerged and its duties were focused and based on the activities, philosophy and objectives of the EAI program.

The Aim:

Help the student to understand the position of the human being in the environment, to know the components of interrelation and interactions that effect the link of the human being with his environment, as well as to develop and increase his awareness and involvement in the protection of nature to guarantee his right to live in a clean environment and decrease the environmental risks caused by man.

The Role of the CPNP:

The program tries to consolidate the environmental concepts that are related to the man's life which are expressed as behaviors by the child as well as by the adult, through directing the programs activities to:

  1. The students: in order to reach the program target that will carry the burden of the protection of nature in the Palestinian community in the future.

  2. The community: through the awareness leaders, as well as to enhance the role of the Palestinian institutions in the protection of nature for a better future for the generations to come.

The General Policy:

CPNP policy is based on the fact that dealing with the  Palestinian community in this regard, starts with children and the program activities are not restricted only to a group of people whether it is a social, political, religious or geographical group but rather it deals with the community as a whole.
