Why Islam?
By (N.H. the son of Jerusalem)
First allow me to thank you for giving us this chance to introduce Islam in a way that might surprise most of you, I'm not sure what you know about Islam. But what I'm sure about is that most of you will say after reading this article: "Is this really what Islam talks about?" or like what Gette the German Philosopher said after studying Islam: "If this is Islam why do not we all be Moslems". I myself, was surprised when I studied Islam for the first time, and never considered myself to be a real Moslem until I had the full picture of Islam. This picture of course, cannot be completed in a few words, but let us save our time and listen to those who spent most of their time searching and looking deeply into Islam. Let us guess what convinced this big number of distinguished theologians to consider Islam as the last testament and the full truth.
Let us be honest and admit that our three monotheist religions have faced so many rumors that are far away from the nature of these religions, and far away from the fact that these rumors could be for a moment convincing or logical.
We all know how Moses (PBUH), suffered from pressure when he called for peace to be upon the world, and we also know how Jesus (PBUH) faced oppression and rejection while he was calling for love. Twice as much as this pressure, oppression, and rejection faced Mohammad (PBHU) just because he approved his predecessors and ended their messages of peace and love, with Islam.
While I was preparing for this paper, I was looking through a book that attracted my attention especially when I looked into its key characters to find that more than 50% of these characters have PhDs and another good number are full professors, the rest are researchers and scientists. The book, which is an objective scientific research, talks about "why we find ourselves after looking and searching Moslems". By the way the title of the book is "Islam: Our Choice". On it's cover was written a paragraph for the English Philosopher Bernard show by which he entitles his study of Islam. It says: "It will not be more than a hundred years until Europe, especially England will recognize the suitability of Islam with the modern civilization. By the way Bernard show is one of the western thinkers who found Mohammed to have the best peaceful solution for all the problems of this boiling world.
One of the reasons that urged me to study Islam objectively, was the fact, which I think many of you share with me, the fact is: "You can mislead some people all of the time, and you can mislead all of the people some of the time, but you can never mislead all of the people all to the time". This rule can be applied just if we are talking about something that might be confusing or unclear to a point that you can't distinguish between what is right and what is wrong. But here it is something else; it is a lot easier for you to distinguish between the right and the wrong since Islam is so clear and frank. And let me tell you that it dose not need that much of work and research to know that what we know about Islam is not totally true. And with a little work you find yourself together with all of those scientists and thinkers opening the gate of truth. You do not need to dig deeply into Islam to find how biased we were when we misunderstood Islam and allowed to all of these rumors to damage its good picture in our minds. It is so easy as Jesus (PBUH) taught his companions how they could distinguish between the good believers and the bad ones, he said "From their fruits you know them".
And here I remember what the Philosopher Gipon who lived in the 18th century said: "It comes out from research and study that imperfection and weakness were in our understanding and way of thinking, while perfection and strength were in Islam".
Here we are not talking about right and wrong, when we are talking about our three monotheist religions, here we are talking about GOD's word, followed by GOD's word, concluded by GOD's word. Being accused does not convict any of us in any way. It is not Islam being right or wrong. It is your accusation being on a base or not. It is the right measures that the objective researchers use when the subject is related to their whole life. When the subject is connected to the three questions, why, how, and where. Any human being, and I mean here the human being who is advanced in his capabilities on other creatures, should have an answer to these questions, and that happens when his beliefs become his whole life. At this moment food and drink are not more than what keeps him alive to fulfil his beliefs. It is these measures that make a lot of scientists work day and night spending most of their lives searching for the truth because it matters, it is their whole lives, to be or not to be.
Doctor Morris Bokai is one of these people who introduced a valuable research putting our three heavenly religions into scale. Maybe some of you will be surprised from the way Dr. Bokai puts Koran with the two former religions, the old Testament, and the new Testament and considers it to be the last Testament. By the way Dr. Bokai considered himself a Moslem the moment he finished his research.
