Announcement of the Student Council Elections Preparatory Committee for the 1999/2000 student council.

1. Nominations
1. Nominations are open for the 51-member assembly of the 1999/2000 student council at 9:00am on Tuesday 16 March 1999.
2. The nomination process will be conducted as follows: The candidate will personally present the Office of Student Affairs with nomination documents and a university identity card.
3. Nominations will continue until Wednesday 17 March 1999 at 3 p.m.
4. The last chance to withdraw a nomination is Thursday 18 March 1999 at 12 noon.



2. The Campaign
1. The election committee will establish the platforms and the campaigns for the list of candidates. The committee will have the right to approve or disapprove of any campaign posters or leaflets to be distributed on the university campus and shall be the final authority on all matters concerning the elections.
2. Campaigning will begin on Saturday morning, 20 March 1999.
3. The campaigns and campaign activities will be concluded on Monday 22 March 1999 at 4pm.
4. Debates will be held on Tuesday 23 March 1999 at 2pm.



3. Voting
1. Voting will begin on Wednesday 24 March 1999. The voting booths will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in areas to be determined by the election committee.
2. Ballot counting will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday 24 March 1999.
3. Official results of the election will be announced Thursday morning 25 March 1999.



4. Nomination And Voting Conditions

Nominations:

1. Nomination is a right of any student studying full-time for a bachelor's degree (taking no less than 12 credit hours during this semester) and on the condition that the student has more than one semester remaining before graduation.
2. The nominee must have completed at least one semester of study at the university. Any student on academic or disciplinary probation at the university does not have the right to a council nomination.

Elections

1. Every registered student working towards a bachelor's degree may exercise their right to vote.
2. Every student must have a student identification card in order to vote.

Headquarters of the Election Committee

The official headquarters of the election committee is the Office of Student Affairs.
