Change Bloc, March 20th 1999

Change Bloc is a youth and student gathering. The bloc is legally, administratively and politically independent and holds the pure Palestinian Identity both in beliefs and practices.

Change Bloc does not receive any type of support or guidance, whether political, religious, or financial, from any political party or faction nor from any other organization or individuals.

The Bloc believes in democracy, celebration of differences, diversity, and the freedom of thought and speech and is committed to the core to these beliefs.

The Bloc is committed to the serious participation in achieving the national Palestinian goals based on our nation’s right to struggle until they return and ensure all their rights in freedom, independence, self rule and building a state of law and civil society.

We believe in the 'try and fail' mechanism in our work to achieve these ultimate national goals. We also believe in the unity of national activities based on the unity of Palestinian blood and land. The bloc believes that the student movement is nationally responsible in guiding and motivating our people to struggle for their rights.

The bloc believes that the student movement is responsible for establishing its own unity on the basis of national unity, maintaining and respecting differences and the freedom of speech and beliefs. Different forms of participation, suggestions and opinions should be respected and the desired student unity should be reflected in the party and political structure outside the university community.

The bloc believes that the student movement should protect its unity from any danger or interference or guidelines from the outside that does not fall within the student traditions.

The bloc believes in the student movement’s duty towards the society through voluntary work activities in all sectors.

The bloc is committed to the university academic and administrative regulations and respects all academic, regulation and administrative councils, committees and departments.

We believe in the necessity of motivating and activating all of the different students' potentials and abilities through activities on all levels: scientific, cultural, and social, as well as in arts and sports.

The bloc views the student council as the constitutional and organisational instrument to organize, program and apply all the various student issues.

We believe in the need to reach a united student council, able to represent all the various student streams, whether as student blocs or as individuals.

The bloc believes in the student movement's right to struggle to improve university student life.
