Democratic Pole Cartoons

One of the symbols of the Democratic Pole on campus is the work of Naji Ali, a Palestinian cartoonist assassinated in London in 1987. They have utilised the cartoons of Naji Ali heavily in their election material, particularly the figures of fat men who characterise what the Democratic Pole sees as self-interested Palestinians who profit at the expense of Palestinian rights. The Democratic Pole cartoons also have a jigsaw as their background image - another symbol of the Pole which represents the Palestinian people across the world.
