ANNOUNCEMENT
Announcement of the election committee of the 1998/99 student council.
- Nominations
- Nominations open for the 51-member assembly of the 1998/99 student council at 9:00am on Monday, March 23, 1998.
- The nomination process will be conducted as follows: The candidate will personally present the student affairs office with nomination documents and his university identity card.
- Nominations continue until Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at three p.m.
- The last chance to withdraw a nomination is Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at 11am.
- The names of the candidates who have filed in accordance with these procedures will be announced on Thursday, March 28, 1998.
- The Campaign
- The election committee will establish the platforms and the campaigns for the list of candidates. The committee will have the right to approve or disapprove of any campaign posters or leaflets to be distributed on the university campus and shall be the final authority on all matters concerning the elections.
- Campaigning will begin on Saturday morning, March 28, 1998.
- The campaigns and demonstrations will be concluded on Monday, March 30, 1998.
- Debates will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 1998.
- Voting
- Voting will begin on Wednesday, March 1, 1998. The voting booths will be open from 8:30a.m. until 4:00p.m. in areas to be determined by the election committee.
- Ballot counting will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 1998.
- Nomination And Voting Conditions
Nominations:
- Nomination is a right of any student studying full-time for a bachelor's degree (taking no less than 12 credit hours during this semester) and on the condition that the student has more than one semester remaining before graduation.
- The nominee must have completed at least one semester of study at the university.
Any student on academic or disciplinary probation at the university does not have the right to a council nomination.
Elections:
- Every registered student working toward a bachelor's degree may exercise his right to vote.
- Every student must have a student identification card in order to vote.
Headquarters of the Committee
- The official headquarters of the election committee is the Dean of Students.
