Ashtar
(Radio St., tel. 02 827 218 / 050 512 285)

Ashtar is in the forefront of theatre education and training in Palestine. Set up in 1991, it aims to provide artistic opportunity in the form of drama teaching and related workshops, thereby developing a new 'Theatre Generation' with all the social benefits accompanying such creative expression. With a gallery space currently exhibiting the work of Scenographer Majed Azubaidy, and bi-annual performances (one of which is always in the summer), this venue is a well worth getting in touch with to see what is going on.
