Basically there are two seasons, winter which is cold and rainy, though seldom below freezing, and summer which is hot and dry. Ramallah enjoys the climatic benefits of being built on hill tops 900m above sea level and so though still hot, the Middle Eastern summer is eased by breezes coming from the Mediterranean sea and even at the height of summer the evenings can sometimes seem chilly.
