Birzeit-- The University Council scheduled an emergency session today to discuss the regrettable incident which happened on the university campus last Saturday, in which some students set fire to a paper bus.
The Council will be reviewing how best to maintain and further the civilised nature of campus activities, which the university seeks to instill as a central value in its students in its students.
Birzeit University deplores the loss of human life that has characterised the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and rejects all symbols that demean the right of any individual to "life, liberty and the security of person", as laid out in Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
